Not to be confused with Ice Factory or Frozen Forest.

Skate along the icy paths of Frozen Factory at lightning speed as the mechanical arctic islands turn into a casino filled extravaganza.

Frozen Factory (フローズンファクトリー Furōzunfakutorī?) is the fourth world in Sonic Lost World. Frozen Factory takes place in a floating factory around an ice-themed area, which are seen to have snowboarding sections, rotating gears and crushers inside the factory. Like other Zones in the game, there are also other separated zones with its own features such as a casino-themed zone.

In the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Lost World, the player can find White Material in the zones if the player finishes the stage successfully.

Description

Wii U

Zone One

This Zone features the tube styled gameplay of other zones, is filled with lots of rotating machinery, as well as allowing Sonic to ice-skate throughout the level and do pirouettes when jumping on ice. This zone also brings back the tubes to transport Sonic through the stage, similar to Chemical Plant Zone's.

Zone Two

First seen in Gamescom demo, Zone 2 in the night time has unique gimmick to the player, as starting the Zone with Spin Dashing, Sonic turns himself into large snowball and the player has to control him in the dangerous route with bottomless pits. The player can gain more speed and momentum by doing Spin Dash again as snowball and the player is able to collect items and objects to the snowball, but they will not function until Sonic touches a Star Post. This makes the player entirely exposed to numerous amount of Badniks, as Crabmeats are able to shoot missiles at Sonic in attempt to destroy the snowball. Bombs on small groups and Cluckoids try to blow Sonic in snowball into the bottomless pit. Getting the snowball destroyed is an instant death.[2]

Zone Three

Zone 3 is a casino-themed zone in contrast to the other zones. Enemies such as Egg Pawns, Crawl and Nebula Badniks appear. This Zone is very similar to previous casino-themed areas, such as Casino Night Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Carnival Night Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Casino Park from Sonic Heroes. There are also numerous different gimmicks on this Zone, which are either dangerous or useful for the player. There are numerous neon lasers, falling purple dices and rotating slot machines rollers, which the player has to look out at the Zone.

This Zone features casino tokens the player can collect in order to increase his or her score. With enough tokens in front of a gate, the player is able to access to one of pinball tables in the Zone. The pinball tables bear a resemblance to Casino Night Zone and Casinopolis from Sonic Adventure. In the pinball tables, the player can collect extra points from bumpers, hexagons, triangles and other objects by using Flippers on the bottom part of pinball table can normally player launch to higher parts. After collecting 1500 points in the pinball table, the small hatch in the middle of table opens and the player can move on to the next part at the Zone.[3]

Zone Four

This Zone is a 2.5D stage with areas similar to Metropolis Zone

Nintendo 3DS

Zone One

Although much is unknown about the Wii U version of Zone One, the Nintendo 3DS version has been shown to have the Frozen Factory level. Coverage from the Sonic Boom 2013 event also has revealed that Sonic can use the Ivory Wisp to activate the Ivory Lightning Color Power ability. Snowboards also return in this level, as the Nintendo 3DS shows some resemblance to Ice Cap Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Sonic can roll snowballs to block air vents that spew out cold air, run through moving gear parts, and defeat a giant Crawlton at the final section of the Zone.[4]

Unknown Zone

The casino zone looks very similar to Zone Three in the Wii U version.

Trivia

  • Frozen Factory's music from Act 1 has a similar bridge from Snowball Waltz.
