Sonic Prime From the Top (transcript)

This is the transcript of the Sonic Prime episode, "From the Top".

[Scene: The Grim]

[The dome from inside the Grim began to get smaller. Inside the citadel, Sonic and Nine were still fighting as they were separated from inside Nine's lab, Sonic bumps himself near the railing and falls to the floor, as he looks up towards the Paradox Prism, Nine who still wanted his energy unleashed three laser beams from his robot tails causing Sonic to quickly jump on the bar. Then, Sonic used his shield to protect himself, but ended up being pushed back as he struggled on. However, he was knocked towards the wall as he falls down. He manages to get up facing Nine again, but he turns around to see his bed next to two palm trees on each side.]

Sonic: You planned this for me?

[Soon enough, Nine yells and charges at Sonic.]

Sonic: Nine, listen!

[Nine swings a crystal and fire laser shots.]

Sonic: I didn't understand what you were doing. Whoa!

[Sonic soon dodges Nine's attacks.]

Tails Nine: Stop talking!

[Then, Sonic spin rolls to avoid the lasers.]

Sonic: You just wanted a better life! Like Green Hill, but for both of us!

[Sonic jumps, almost losing his balance as kept moving around.]

Tails Nine: Stand still and fight me!

[Just as Nine was about to attack, a wall explosion suddenly appeared covering the lab in smoke. As it started to clear up, both Sonic and Nine groaned as he looks up in surprise.]

Shadow: It's over, Nine.

[The camera zooms out to reveal Shadow, the Chaos Council, the Resistance, the Scavengers and the Angel's Voyage crew all gathered to face against Nine.]

[The opening theme plays]

Tails Nine: (gasped) Get back! Don't make me destroy you all!

Sonic: Is that what you want? More destruction? Look outside!

[He soon looks up and could see the dome shrinking.]

Sonic: I'm sorry for everything, Nine. I missed my home so much and was so focused on getting it back that I didn't listen to what you wanted or appreciate what you were trying to do. I never meant to hurt you.

[Nine looks at Sonic for a short second, then looks away with an angry expression.]

Tails Nine: But, you did.

[He then looks up, whimpering.]

Sonic: (Sighs) I lost my home and all my friends. But friends talk it out. They don't turn their backs on each other and fight to the death.

[With Sonic's word's reaching him, he looks at Sonic the second time.]

Mr. Dr. Eggman: Enough talk! Light this fox up, full volley!

[Mr. Dr. Eggman soon started shooting at Nine. But then, Sonic quickly protected him with his shield.]

Sonic: Stop! Everyone stop! This isn't the solution!

[The Chaos Council stopped attacking to realized what they have heard.]

Rusty Rose: You would, protect him?

Sonic: I would.

Mr. Dr. Eggman: The blue rodent has finally lost it. Very well: destroy them both!

Sonic: Stop, all of you! In a few minutes, there won't be anything left to fight over.

Dr. Deep: The hedgehog makes a good point.

[Then, Sonic turns to Nine looking worried.]

Sonic: I need you to understand.

[Nine looks down and turns to look at everyone.]

Sonic: Their worlds have been shattered, their homes destroyed. The same thing is happening here. How do we stop this?

[Tails hyperventilates and lapses.]

Tails Nine: [Upset] I pushed it too far. This wasn't supposed to happen. I... I'm sorry, Sonic. Without a great sacrifice, reality as we know it will be over.

[The camera cuts to a view of the Citadel, on an islet encapsulated in the Void. Mangey whimpers and consoles Gnarly. Rebel holds Knucks' arm while Batten comforts Sails. The Roses hold hands.]

Rusty Rose: It has been an honor, sisters.

[Dr. Don't sheds tears while Dr. Done-it snores. Dr. Deep gathers the two together and they start sobbing, while Dr. Babble giggles and claps. Shadow firmly looks at Sonic, who looks at one of his gloves in misery.]

Sonic: [Determined] Not yet.

[He runs and jumps onto the other Shatter Drive in the lab.]

Tails Nine: Sonic, what are you doing?

Sonic: Giving you a sacrifice.

Tails Nine: You'd do that after everything I...

Sonic: What are friends for?

[Sonic turns to Shadow, who nods in agreement.]

Sonic: If I do this, you must all promise to leave Nine alone! Let him live peacefully in his new home in the Grim.

Mr. Dr. Eggman: Sure, certainly. Invade? Us? [chuckles] What do you mean?

Sonic: Same goes for you, Nine. Promise that you won't cause any more trouble in the other Shatterspaces.

Renegade Knucks: How can we trust him?

Tails Nine: You can trust me.

Rebel Rouge: We have no choice. It all ends here if we don't.

[Nine smiles]

Tails Nine: You have my word.

Dr. Done-It: [Angrily bangs his fist] Hurry up already!

[Nine moves over to the keyboard and starts typing.]

Tails Nine: If I can extract the remaining Prism energy inside of him, I can use it to fully reform the Paradox Prism.

[The screen shows energy depleting from a Sonic icon and a bar to the right of the Paradox Prism raised up to full.]

Dr. Deep: And then? Spit it out!

Tails Nine: And then the Prism will finally be fully stable. I can save everything.

Sonic: You heard him. We have a plan. Let's move this along.

Mr. Dr. Eggman: For once, I agree with the blue rat. Do it already!

Tails Nine: There's a risk. If I remove the energy, he might fall apart.

Rebel Rouge: [Suspicious] What about Shadow?

Sonic: Shadow wasn't there for the shatter event. He blipped into this reality. But I shattered the Prism.

Tails Nine: And without the Prism energy binding him, I'm not sure he'll make it.

Sonic: I'm ready.

[Nine is shocked by the response, and becomes agonized.]

Sonic: It's the only way, Nine.

[Nine nods in misery, then types on the keyboard once again.]

Sonic: Do it.

[Nine turns to Sonic, miserably, then presses one last button on the keyboard. The Shatter Drive begins lighting up and starts whirring. Sonic grunts as he struggles and floats. His gloves and shoes sparkle with electricity. Waves of light pass over him. Sonic's arms are forced back while his shoes and gloves fluctuate into various looks from different Shatterspaces. The Paradox Prism starts lighting up and shaking, the seam lines which showed where each Shard is located retracting to the center, disappearing. The monitor displays Sonic's energy depleted to empty, having been transferred to the Prism. Sonic's regulators detach, showing his plain gloves and shoes. The Prism bursts a white light which covers the screen. As soon as the light fades, Sonic - who now appears a pale grey with an light outline glowing around him - collapses on the podium, with vapor rising around him. Shadow looks over in shock.]

Tails Nine: Sonic, are you...

[Sonic pants and tries to get up.]

Sonic: Me? Never better. [Kneels]

Rebel Rouge: [Relieved] He's still alive. He didn't shatter!

[Sonic stands, but is affected by a strong spasm...]

Sonic: Whoa.

[...causing him to collapse and fall onto Knucks, who catches him. He twitches again.]

Tails Nine: His Prismatic energy has been extracted. The Prism is whole. His body is holding together, but I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before...

[Becomes distracted as Sonic twitches again, struggling.]

Renegade Knucks: Easy, blue. I got ya.

Mr. Dr. Eggman: [Pointing to the Paradox Prism] And we've got this!

[He, Eggforcers, and the rest of the Chaos Council stand in-front of the prism and display their combat poses in-front of Nine. He growls and tries to run to the keyboard, but Dr. Babble grabs the little fox away from it and threatens him. Dr. Deep draws a sword and points it at Shadow.]

Dr. Deep: Stand down, Edge Lord. I don't trust one hedgehog, let alone two.

Mr. Dr. Eggman: Dr. Don't! Triangulate whatever is left of New Yoke City.

Dr. Don't: [Typing on the keyboard.] Once I calibrate to New Yoke City, we're outta here.

[Nine threatens and points his mechanical tails at the Council. Dr. Done-It also points his cane weapon towards him.]

Dr. Done-It: Ah-ah-ah! [His weapon lights up] Careful! Look at your friend. He's in no shape to fight.

Sonic: [With his arm around Knucks] He's right. I'm gassed. But if Nine could barely handle the power of the Prism, you clowns have no hope.

Dr. Deep: Now, now. We must all accept when our time is over. But who knows? Perhaps when I wield the power of the Prism, I'll create a version of you that's more agreeable.

Dr. Don't: When you wield it? [Scoffs] Wait until you see the VR world I've been planning. I'll call it the "Egg-a-verse."

Dr. Done-It: In your dreams, you no good whippersnapper!

Dr. Don't: What's a whippersnapper?

[Dr. Babble angrily mutters and flails his arms.]

Dr. Done-It: [Points his weapon at Dr. Babble] Oh, cram it with walnuts, ya big baby, or I'll give you a permanent timeout!

Mr. Dr. Eggman: Enough, you fools! [Pops his head out of the cockpit] We stand at the precipice of a new world, and you would ruin my moment?

Dr. Deep: Your moment? Why, you sanctimonious...

[Dr. Babble yells and bangs his mace arm on the ground, causing the rest of the Council to brace themselves. A five-way screen appears, with all five members of the Council becoming enraged. They open fire at each other. Dr. Done-It shoots at Dr. Babble's arm. Dr. Don't prepares his Eggforcers for combat.]

Dr. Don't: Yes! Eat that!

[The Eggforcers fire at Dr. Deep, but he blocks them with his swords.]

Dr. Deep: Hi-ya! Ya!

[Dr. Done-It's seat hovers into Dr. Deep, who kicks the seat forward, but the Eggforcers dodge it. Dr. Deep dodges an Eggforcers charge, while the other one hits Dr. Done-It. Dr. Babble grabs an Eggforcers and throws it towards Dr. Don't who dodges, causing it to crash into a wall. Shadow prepares to fight, but Rebel holds him back.]

Rebel Rouge: Hold on, Shadow. Let's see how this plays out.

Mr. Dr. Eggman: [With weapon debris being thrown behind him] Stop! Stop, you morons!

[Dr. Done-It smacks Dr. Don't on the head with his cane. Dr. Deep charges at Dr. Babble, who blocks it with his arm and slams the ground.]

Knuckles the Dread: Arghh. Should we do something?

Renegade Knucks: Not yet. This is like candy to me.

[Dr. Babble throws Dr. Don't. Dr. Done-It points his weapon at Dr. Deep. Sonic and Nine look at each other. He winks, but twitches again, causing him to grunt and close both eyes. Nine smiles and nods. He hides behind a wall, then makes his way back to the keyboard and starts typing. The Prism opens up a Portal to the Void. Dr. Deep charges at Dr. Babble, but is slapped by him as he crashes into Dr. Done-It as they fly through the portal.]

Mr. Dr. Eggman: Babbles, no! Bad baby! Bad!

[Dr. Babble mutters and slams his fist.]

Mr. Dr. Eggman: [gasps; angrily] That is it! You're getting a timeout!

[Mr. Dr. Eggman shoots at Dr. Babble, blocking the attacks with his arm. Bullets fire at Denizen 1998, forcing him to duck.]

Shadow: How about now?

Rebel Rouge: [Miserably] Knock yourself out.

[Shadow battle cries and spin jumps into Dr. Babble, knocking the screaming baby into the Void. Knucks, Rebel and Rusty join in the fight against the Council.]

Dr. Don't: Okay, that's it. I'm out!

[Dr. Don't warps into the portal and starts playing his video game.]

Renegade Knucks: Now we do something.

[The Rebels close in slowly on Mr. Dr. Eggman.]

Mr. Dr. Eggman: No! This belongs to me! I'll defeat all of you! I'll...

[He is tag teamed by the Rebels and blasted into the void.]

Mr. Dr. Eggman: You haven't heard the last of us! You just wait! We will amass an even greater army and destroy-

[The portal whirs and disappears.]

Tails Nine: Good riddance.

[He smiles a little. Sonic groans as he twitches again.]

Tails Nine: Sonic?

[Energy crackles, causing Sonic to grunt.]

Sonic: [Softly] You were right, buddy. [Energy crackles, causing him to grunt.] Guess without the Prism energy... [Energy crackles, causing him to grunt.] I can't exist in the Shatterspaces.

[Nine types on the keyboard.]

Tails Nine: With the Prism whole again, if I start the reformation process, theoretically, there's still a chance I can bring back Green Hill!

Sonic: [Energy crackles, causing him to grunt.] Green Hill? [Energy crackles, causing him to grunt.]

Tails Nine: [Stops typing] Here goes.

[Cut to the monitor. The diagram shows the Prism on the left, pieces of the prism in the inset, and the portals on a grid to the right. Cut to the Paradox Prism itself, which glows, whirs and shakes. Knucks comforts Sonic. Everyone flinches and braces themselves as the Prism bursts a white light which covers the screen. As soon as it fades, Rebel looks up at the podium.]

Rebel: Huh?

[Cut to the podium; the prism disappears, with white vapor spewing out.]

Batten Rouge: The Prism! It be...

Rusty Rose: Gone. And nothing has changed. Our attempt has failed.

Tails Nine: [Cuts in, pointing up and ahead] Look!

[Sonic and his friends walk past a crack that had developed in the wall. Everyone gasp as they look up to the purple sky with airborne rocks and portal gateways of different colors, which light up in their respective colors. Crystals from each colored gateway line up and merge together.]

Sonic: The gateways... are reforming.

[The Blue Gateway completes its reformation.]

Black Rose: [off-screen] No Place!

[The Green Gateway completes its reformation.]

Prim Rouge: The Boscage Maze!

[A separate colored group of crystals line up close to the Green Gateway. Birdie squawks]

Thorn Rose: I don't know what that is, Birdie.

[Shadow stares at it. Cut to the newly-formed gateway, which glows white.]

Sonic: It's...Green Hill. You did it, Nine. [Energy crackles, causing him to grunt.] I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to outrun this.

Tails Nine: Yes, you can, if you leave now.

Rebel Rouge: [To Sonic, firmly] Nine's right. You get to your home, we'll get to ours.

Sonic: Even if I wanted to, I can't. I'm outta juice.

Renegade Knucks: You're not doing it alone. Not when you got friends here to help.

[His friends look at Sonic confidently. Sonic smiles a little. Nine breaks down and hugs Sonic. Sonic smiles and hugs back.]

Tails Nine: Now hurry. [Sniffles] That Gateway won't be there forever.

[Sonic nods in agreement. Thorn hops onto Birdie's back.]

Thorn Rose: Need a ride?

[Birdie squawks. Sonic walks forward, but collapses as he twitches again, with Dread holding him by the chest.]

Knuckles the Dread: Easy there, lad. I got you.

Rusty Rose: Let me give you a... hand.

[Rusty picks up Sonic and puts him onto Birdie's back.]

Sonic: Well, my friends, I just wanna say...

Knuckles the Dread: You got no time for speeches, boyo. Fly!!! And know we'll be rooting for ya.

Sonic: Right. Take care of each other, okay?

Thorn Rose: Hold tight, friend. Let's go, Birdie. Fly!

[Birdie takes off.]

Knuckles The Dread: Goodbye, Sonic!

Black Rose: Farewell!

[Shadow clears his throat at the Roses. They turn back.]

Black Rose: Oh, I suppose you need a ride too...?

[Shadow looks away. Cut to Sonic, Thorn and Birdie, continuing their ascent.]

Thorn Rose: You got this, Birdie!

[Birdie speeds up along the Void, dodging rocks by swerving, and corkscrewing. However, she squawks as she gets hit by a rock, hurting her wing.]

Thorn Rose: Birdie, your wing! [Birdie squawks as her hurt wing remains in position, descending.]

Sonic: It doesn't look good. [He struggles] We're not gonna make it.

[Energy crackles, causing him to grunt. Birdie falls.]

Thorn Rose: No!

[Below, the Yolkomotive catches the injured Birdie on the deck.]

Sonic: Black Rose?

Black Rose: Happy to lend a hand! Now hold on to your backsides. We're gonna pick up the pace!

[The Yolkomotive's thrusters ignite and the vehicle speeds up. It hits a rock, causing Black to grunt in anger. Another rock hits the front of the ship. Sonic falls and collapses to the ground, with Thorn checking on him.]

Thorn Rose: [To Black] Hurry! He's not gonna make it!

Black Rose: [pants] I'm doing me best! [angrily] But this bucket of bolts is barely holding together!

Rusty Rose: [Extends her arm and makes her way to a turret.] Keep it steady! I will clear a path!

[She fires from the turret, shooting and clearing the rocks out of the way. Sonic groans as he twitches. The Yolkomotive is now see running with one thruster. Another rock hits that last thruster, causing the Yolkomotive to slow down.]

Black Rose: I'm losing speed!

[Shadow catches a rock and throws it away, then kicks another one. He looks around, determined. He then sighs and closes his eyes, while Black punches the deck in fury.]

Shadow: Black Rose, you've brought us far enough. I'll take it from here.

[Black Rose nods. Thorn helps Sonic up again, while Shadow takes him forward. They hold their arms around each other as they slowly walk off. Black jumps onto the deck. Sonic looks back at the miserable looking Roses.]

Sonic: Goodbye, Roses.

[Shadow carries Sonic off the Yolkomotive as they jump from rock to rock. Sonic twitches as they land on a big rock. Shadow speeds along the big rock's surface, with an aura glowing behind him. Cut to a close-up of Sonic.]

Sonic: I never knew you were a hugger. [Energy crackles, causing him to grunt.]

Shadow: Do you want me to save you or not?

[Energy crackles, causing Sonic to grunt. Shadow speeds to the end of a rock and leaps off the end of it towards the gateway. The frame freezes and the camera rotates as Shadow lands his foot on another rock. He powers up and leaps again, carrying the incapacitated Sonic.]

Shadow: Hang on, Sonic!

[With a golden streak, Shadow tries to keep the momentum going as much as possible, and makes it through the gateway with Sonic. As soon as they go in, the screen cuts to white with a breathtaking sound effect.]

[Scene Change: Green Hill, Temple Mountain, Sunset]

[The white screen fades. Sonic opens his eyes.]

Sonic: Oh, where am I? [He gasps as a freeze frame with a speed of 0.01 seconds

plays of his friends battling robots, and Eggman's Eggcrusher about to occupy the Paradox Prism; Happily] It worked!

[He runs to Knuckles]

Sonic: Knuckles!

[He fist-bumps him and jumps over Rouge.]

Sonic: Fly high, Rouge!

[He runs to Amy, with two Flickys on top of a Badnik.]

Sonic: Nobody protects nature better than you, sweet Amy.

[He runs to the top of the rock and sits on it, in-front of Tails.]

Sonic: Hi, buddy. I can't tell you how much I missed you... or how much I can't wait to hear you say, "Sonic, wait!" In less than 20 seconds.

[Sonic peels out across the cave towards Eggman. The frame goes back to normal speed with a reference to the first episode, Shattered.]

Sonic: Step away from the rock, Eggman!

Dr. Eggman: Not this time, you fool.

[As Sonic gets closer and closer to Eggman, the Prism is shown becoming looser and looser due to Eggman's efforts. Once close enough, Sonic jumps and spins towards Eggman and the Prism.]

Tails: Sonic, wait!

[Sonic is about to hit the Prism, which is glowing brightly]

Amy, Knuckles, Rouge and Tails: Sonic! No!

[Sonic clings onto Eggman's pod and hugs it.]

Dr. Eggman: Wha-huh?

Amy, Knuckles, Rouge and Tails: Huh?!

Dr. Eggman: Uhh...what do you think you're doing?

Sonic: I'm just happy to see everyone! Even you, Eggy!

Dr. Eggman: What?! [Punches Sonic with his glove, and then uses the Eggcrusher's fist to punch him up in the air, followed by another punch, knocking him back.] Stop that! I can't stand you, you blue buffoon!

[Sonic is alongside his friends.]

Sonic: Okay, crew! There are two things that are gonna happen here! One, we protect that big shiny rock! And two, we stick together no matter what it takes! Now let's go crack that rotten egg!

Amy Rose: Huh! I guess he finally heard the "stick together" part.

[Sonic and his friends charge towards Eggman. Knuckles punches a badnik. Rouge hits another while Tails uses his device to break another robot. Amy hammers a Caterkiller. Sonic spin attacks two more badniks before spin-jumping to defeat another one.]

Dr. Eggman: [Waves with the Eggcrusher] Say goodbye to your "trees and beaches"! My time has finally come!

[His mech grabs hold of the Paradox Prism.]

Sonic: Take the shot, Tails!

[Tails shoots, directly hitting Eggman and knocking his Eggcrusher back away from the Paradox Prism and towards Amy, who hammers it. Rouge kicks the Eggcrusher on the head.]

Dr. Eggman: Why, you little...!

[Tails takes Sonic high. Sonic spin attacks Eggman. Knuckles punches to send the Eggcrusher down as it grazes the rocks with a dust cloud. Eggman gets up.]

Amy Rose: Gotta admit, Sonic, this "stick together" plan might be our best one yet.

Sonic: If I've learned anything, it's that we are a team, and together, we're unstoppable!

Knuckles: What's the matter with you, Sonic? Did you eat another one of those truck stop chili dogs on your way over?

Sonic: [laughs] Something like that.

Dr. Eggman: You and your furry friends are adorable when you try this hard, hedgehog! But the result is inevitable.

[Eggman walks forward and threatens them. To Sonic's curiosity while noticing something behind Eggman, Shadow appears with a fierce look from the entrance to the cave. In his hand, he reveals the green Chaos Emerald, the one he lost. Sonic smiles and nods in agreement as the Eggcrusher walks closer to them.]

Dr. Eggman: This world is MINE!

[Shadow teleports to stand on top of the Paradox Prism, to Eggman's shock.]

Dr. Eggman: Huh?! Shadow?! What the heck are you doing here?!

Shadow: I am the ultimate life form. I go wherever I want.

Dr. Eggman: Wha-huh?

Shadow: Chaos Control!

[He disappears with the Prism.]

Dr. Eggman: [Angrily] NOO!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?!?!

[Sonic jumps onto the Prism's crater.]

Sonic: Sorry, Eggman. But when you've got a crew like mine, there's nothing that can stop you.

Dr. Eggman: You haven't heard the last of me, Sonic!

Sonic: [Impersonating Eggman] "You will pay for this in ways you'd never imagine!" [Normally] Yeah, yeah, I heard it a million times, Eggy. And I can't wait for a million and one.

Dr. Eggman: [Occupying Cubot and Orbot with both hands] Cubot! Orbot! We're gonna need a bigger fleet!

Orbot: Sir, yes, sir!

Cubot: Ooh, I've always wanted a bigger fleet!

[Eggman walks out of the cave and jumps out of Temple Mountain. Sonic and his friends cheer in celebration.]

[Scene Change: Green Hill, Coast, Day]

[Big fishes on the raft. Knuckles exercises by lifting a boulder. Rouge flies down handing coconuts to Amy and Tails. Sonic walks in with a plate stacked of Chili Dogs]

Tails: Sonic!

[Knuckles throws the rock away and gets up.]

Knuckles: Ha, late again. What a surprise.

Big: [Excited] Oh, chili dogs!

[He runs to the beach.]

Sonic: I'm not late. Just wanted to make sure the taste-o-meter on these chili dogs was at 110%.

Amy Rose: [Provoked] Yeah, okay, Sonic.

Tails: You've been acting different since the cave. Is something going on?

Sonic: [Sniffs deeply] Okay, okay. The wildest thing just happened. Right after the--

[An explosion is heard in the distance.]

Sonic: Huh?

[Sonic turns and gasps in horror. Light blue shockwaves burst through Green Hill and knocks everyone back, ruining the Chili Dogs. A shadow forms across the beach. Sonic facepalms while the others stay alert.]

Sonic: [groaning] Oh, you gotta be kidding me. [ready to fight] Okay, team, we gotta go fast!

[He peels out. The screen cuts to black and the credits appear.]
