From the Log of Gardon[1][2] was a pair of short stories published on the now-defunct Archie Comics Sonic the Hedgehog blog, written by Ian Flynn. As with all blog short stories, both parts are mostly composed of text, but occasionally include reused panels from the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series to relate to the subject. The stories are presented in-universe as log entries.
Both parts of the story are written from the perspective of Gardon, and detail his thoughts on Blaze the Cat's journey. The first entry takes place shortly before the events of Sonic Universe #21, published on 3 November 2010. The second entry, (despite being released later) takes place chronologically earlier in the aftermath of the events of Sonic Universe #1. It was published on 29 November 2010.

Part one[]
- I worry for our princess. I worry for our world. I worry a great deal lately and about nearly everything.
- When the Sol Emeralds first disappeared I did not oppose the princess's plan to seek them out. To travel the world or to cross into other zones - it didn't matter.
- We needed the gems back.
- But when she reported back I began to second guess my conviction.
- All this interdimensional travel, so many perils and powerful creatures . . .
- I'm not doubting in the power of our princess!
- She's a very capable guardian. And I realize that I don't know many of the details.
- She's a very private person.
- But my duty is to protect her and aid in her duties, and I'm very often left in the dust. I worry I'm not able to do enough and that the worst may happen.
- Our princess has set out to search for another Sol Emerald. I am left behind to safe-guard things here. I do hope things go smoothly for her.
- I wish I could do more.
Part two[]
- I...am stupefied. I've sat here, staring at this page, for at least an hour. How do I even begin?
- The princess has been on her mission to recover the Sol Emeralds. She told me after returning from an adventure that took her across the islands with a little girl and two people from another . . . well, she said "world."
- Does she mean from space? I will have to ask for her to clarify her story at a later date when I'm less shaken.
- But she had been using a gift from the...visitors...called a "Chaos Emerald." Apparently that is like a Sol Emerald, but different.
- I am but a soldier. I don't know about these things.
- The thing is, the princess is the guardian of the Sol Emeralds, and thus has incredible powers. She is special, and I can wrap my head around that.
- But the island was attacked by some kind of metal monster that stood its ground against her. She said it was a robot, like those Captain Whisker commands, but this THING was far more potent.
- And then another "visitor" came to her aid. He was dark and frightening to behold.
- He spoke to the metal thing as if they were equals, and then they fought so ferociously . . . HOW DOES ANYTHING MOVE THAT FAST?!
- With the metal creature's defeat, the princess gave the Chaos Emerald to the dark visitor and he vanished in a flash of light.
- I was lucid during this entire exchange.
- I....don't know.
- It's too much for me to take!
