From the Databanks of Nicole[1] was a short story published on the now-defunct Archie Comics Sonic the Hedgehog blog, written by Ian Flynn. Presented as a databank entry, it details events during in the Iron Dominion Takeover from the perspective of Nicole, and takes place sometime between issues #209 and #211 of the main series. The story is mostly composed of text, but occasionally includes reused panels from the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series to relate to the subject. It was published on 1 December 2010.
Entries[]
- My database remains inaccurate.
- The resistance's activity and patrols by both the Dark Egg Legion and Yagyu Clan keep the exact number of citizens free or imprisoned in a constant state of flux.
- That, and should I lose my will again, I do not want the Iron Queen to have access to solid numbers.
- Approximately 95% total city population is under direct threat of the Iron Dominion.
- Of this, 90% are held within Prison Eggs with approximately 4% in hiding throughout the city without support.
- The...the remaining less than 1% have been Legionized and shipped to the greater Eggman Empire despite our efforts.
- Barely 5% of the total city population remains free.
- Of this, most have been evacuated to Angel Island via Warp Rings and are under protection of the Chaotix while the others are in safe houses and being moved by the resistance.
- The resistance formally consists of three Freedom Fighters: Amy Rose, Antoine D'Coolette, and Bunnie D'Coolette.
- There is little organization, although Amy is doing well keeping them focused. Bunnie is regulated to underground movements due to her susceptibility to technomancy.
- Other citizens aid.
- The Forget-Me-Knots have proven quite valuable, especially with Mina's speed.
- I am doing my best to keep everyone networked while maintaining my "brainwashed" facade.
- "Errors" are unavoidable, and the Freedom Fighters help to mask my "lack" of efficiency.
- However, I can only have so many locks fail and cause so many blackouts.
- If the Iron Queen were to directly challenge my new security subroutines, there is a 52% probability she will win control once more.
- ...another citizen has been legionized. I file his tracking number. Maybe one day he can be brought home...and I can apologize.
