Froggy is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He is a mobini frog and Big the Cat's best friend and companion.

Froggy and Big lived peacefully near the Mystic Ruins for some time, uninvolved with the greater affairs of their world. That changed when Froggy unexpectedly swallowed a Chaos Emerald and a portion of the substance of Chaos, which caused him to grow a long tail. He was subsequently taken by E-102 Gamma as part of Dr. Eggman's schemes to control the full power of Chaos, and Big went after him to rescue him. After the Emerald and portion of Chaos were removed, Froggy was reunited with Big and the pair returned home.[2] However, it would not be the end of Froggy's adventures, as Neo Metal Sonic would subsequently abduct him and Chocola in order to copy Chaos' data. Fortunately, the pair were rescued by Team Rose, though not before Neo Metal Sonic achieved his goal and transformed into Metal Overlord.[3] Following the defeat of that menace, Froggy wandered off and got Big mixed up in Eggman's schemes involving the Wisps.[4]

Shattered World Crisis

Note: From the readers point of view, this picks up from where Froggy's original timeline ended.

While Froggy was hanging out with Big in their hut in the Mystic, they met Sonic and Tails who were looking for Rotor. Froggy then came with Big when the later led them to the Sky Patrol, and joined the Freedom Fighters on-board the vessel with Big once the team was assembled.[5][6] From there, Froggy accompanied the Freedom Fighters on-board the Sky Patrol as they set out to deal with the Shattered World Crisis.[7]

A while later, Froggy and Big joined a ragtag squad led by Cream the Rabbit on a mission to rescue Team Freedom and Team Fighters, who were caught in a trap laid by Dr. Eggman in Sand Hill Zone.[8]
