Looks like we have a good consensus. Anyone else oppose this idea? {{User:SilverPlays97/Sig}} 20:14, May 6, 2013 (UTC) |

Result: Talk Bubbles will not be permitted on Site discussions. |

I would like to propose that we ban using talk bubbles on site discussions. Talk bubbles are in general problematic, being big and unweildy and, in large amounts, exceeding the template include size of pages, meaning that the templates are not properly displayed and any messages using talk bubbles are illegible. (Incidentally, the linked category would be considerably larger if I hadn't repeatedly trawled through it, editing talk bubbles to display text and signatures instead.)
But I foresee that any attempt to ban talk bubbles outright is doomed to failure, so I'd rather concentrate on their use on site discussions. When discussions are open, there's no real problem, but when the discussions are closed... well, just look. The talk bubbles look hideous in conjuction with {{Closed}}. What's worse, if the first post in a site discussion is a talk bubble, it causes even bigger problems unless a line is added arbitrarily in front of it (as is the case on the linked forum). Minor other annoyances include people using many different talk bubbles, making it seem to a casual observer as if multiple different people share the same view. On the linked forum, SplashTheHedgehog used 6 different designs with the only thing in common being the username. That's not a problem on a talk page, but it's far from professional on a site discussion. -- Supermorff (talk) 07:47, May 4, 2013 (UTC) I support. ★EYCEST★R★ ★Contact★ 14:07, May 4, 2013 (UTC) I've been having nitpicks about talk bubbles, anyway. I'm going to support this, only because of what I believe and what Morff stated, which is true BlueSpeeder (talk) 14:22, May 4, 2013 (UTC)
