Okay, this is the first time I tried to make a forum, so forgive me if I made a mistake.

Anyway, let's face facts. Sonic game aren't what they used to be. I like some of his new games (like Sonic Unleashed), but the whole thing has gone down hill...

BUT... is there hope? I read this and liked their ideas. Overall, I think if Sega follows these things he could go back to his glory days. Here is my specific feedback for each step:

1.) I'm glad someone else noticed this. It's like Sega makes at least three new characters each game. I say obiviously keep Sonic and Eggman. Tails, Shadow, Amy, and Knuckles can appear occasionally. Everyone else, erase. Omega, Silver, Blaze, Cream, Big, Chaotix, I MEAN EVERYONE! Look at the quality of characters instead of quanity.

2.) The only one I don't know about. Anyone else notice how polarizing Shadow is? There are a lot of people who hate him, and a lot of people who love him. There aren't that many who are neutral towards him.

3.) GOTTAGOFASTGOTTAGOFASTGOTTAGOFASTERFASTERFASTERFASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whew... Seriously though, when Sonic turns to speed, it's good. Critics generally loved the daytime versions of Sonic Unleashed and they saw Sonic and the Secret Rings as a huge step in the right direction. Sonic shouldn't be wasting his time as, say a Werehog (I liked the night stages in Unleashed, but the daytime stages where soooooo much better. Plus, critics really hated those stages).

4.) Again, choose quality over quanity. Sega's already tried 4 times recently to "save" Sonic (Secret Rings, Unleashed, Chronicles, and Black Night). Mario and Link have both only had one big Wii game: Galaxy and Twilight Princess (spin-offs for Mario like Mario Kart and Mario Party don't count), and they're both two of the biggest video game characters of all time!

5.) Let's look at Mario and Link again. Basic Mario game: Bowser kidnapps Peach, tries to take over the world, and Mario stops him. Basic Zelda game: Ganon steals the Triforce and/or kidnapps Zelda (I think, I don't play Zelda games), and Link stops him. As for Sonic, his games get cluttered with time travel (Sonic the Hedgehog 2006), things happening 50 years ago (Shadow the Hedgehog), and other dimensions (Sonic Rush and Rival series). Highly detailed plots are good for RPGs, but they shouldn't be the focus on platformers, IMO.

Well, those are my views. What are your views on this or any other wasy to save Sonic? Go Mario! Sonic is good too, though 01:00, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Actually, us fans noticed for quite some time. It's Sega themselves who haven't really bee paying attention.--Mystic Monkey 02:01, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Maybe the reason Sega hasn't done anything about is that they're still making money. The recent Sonic games are still selling at least a million copies on average (I think). Some fans (myself included) keep buying the games hoping it will be the game that will "save" Sonic. Perhaps if people boycotted Sonic games until they made a great game again, Sega would have no choice but to spend a lot of time and effort making a great game? Unfortunately, I think there are too many fans in denial that Sonic has gone down hill for that plan to work... Go Mario! Sonic is good too, though 19:23, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

I do have a theory of why Sonic games do kinda suck of late... However, from all of my carefully considered theories, Sonic related or other, this has to be one of my most weakest as it isn't supported by good hard evidence. Bit TL;DR if your not interested.--Mystic Monkey 19:45, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

I could really care less about plot and graphics, all I care about is that the game is fun to play and I like a large cast of characters, I don't know why but I just do.--Kit the CatShadkit3 20:27, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Guess no ones interested in my theory.
I like all the characters too. Shadow, Rouge, Silver, Blaze and all that. I just wish Sonic Team stop making up new characters and use the ones they already have and forgotten like Mighty, Nack, Bean and Bark.

My ideas for redesigns for Heavy and Bomb would be Heavy looks more like a grey coloured E-series robot and Bomb looks like the classic badniks from Star Light Zone and Scrap Brain Zone... only with arms!--Mystic Monkey 22:00, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Bomb

I'll have you fools know that 2D Platforming with 3D grapthics won't save Sonic, in fact it's just plain stupid for the series! That's Smash Bros. stuff! Besides the 2D platforiming with the 3D graphics, I like it all! They should bring back some of the old characters, though, because I don't know who they are XD! But there's nothing wrong with creating more characters for the series! In fact, I dislike User:Go Mario's idea of erasing alot of the characters! To do that would mean rebooting the series, and to do that, they'd have to make it a whole new series! That would destroy all that we at Sonic News Network worked so hard to build! Am I making a point?--Akamia(Talk)(Want to see what I've been doing?) 22:55, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh oui oui I am ze terribeu fuel! I said "Yes! Lets remember old characters".--Mystic Monkey 23:08, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Anyone for the theory I mentioned before? Or no one likes 'em?--Mystic Monkey 00:36, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh yes, stop making new characters and bring back Mighty, Bark, Fang, Honey, Tiara B, etc. SEGA!--Kit the CatShadkit3 23:04, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Wll here's what I think okay first off they need to stop with the lame puns and catch phrases they make Sonic sound like an idiot! They should also fix the glitches and all that. Also they should come up with better story lines something that doesn't make you wonder what they were smoking when they made it. Cheetahfly 04:53, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

My general view of Sonic is that he is fine. I am fiercly loyal to him perhaps to a fault. But I can see some problems if changes are done right now. For example due to sonic's history we have fans comming and going and each have there own view and taste on the games. Some players like to explore while others like to race through the levels so there will always be some disagreements on how Sonic Team should make there games. I mean yeah we are the fans so Sonic games should be to our interests but we can't tell them what to do, they have to work it out themselves.

Come to think about it I don't really have a faveourate Sonic game, I love them all. but my faveourate gameplay controls has to be from Sonic Adventure. To me the controls are easy and based after the platform games before Sonic Adventure, that being simple and easy yet in SA1 it's not difficult to get at full speed. To me Sonic Adventure 1 was ideal for players who like to reach the goal as fast as they can, or they like to explore along the way. I wish Sonic gameplay was more like this (though be understandable if extra button functions were needed as long as it's kept simple). As for Mighty, Bean and other forgotten characters, people want them back because they seem wasted when it comes to brand new characters introduced in every new game.--Mystic Monkey sez 21:01, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

I agree with both SlugDrones and Mystic Monkey on this matter. I've been loyal to that hedgehog eversince I was just a child, and I'll continue to stay loyal to him. I don't really care about how good or bad his games are. I love all of the Sonic games that I own as well as the ones I don't have. In other words, I love all of the games as well. I also think that he is fine. -- Blitz the Frog 03:34, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

Actually, chances are that middle picture with classic Sonic might be a hoax, I am not sure where you found it but first I seen of it. But after some snooping I have found out that playable Zones would be Splash Hill Zone, the Casino Street Zone, Lost Labyrinth Zone, and the Mad Gear Zone (which I red just in case for future articles but don't take my word on it. Also, I found a leaked video!

I hope what I provided put minds at rest.--Mystic Monkey sez 01:56, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

I doubt they'd come to this site, but they have ways of finding online sneak peeks. -- Shelly the Hedgehog Amy to ShellyI'm not a monkey! 04:14, February 24, 2010 (UTC)
