Result: Interwiki links have been added.
Hello, I'm Elecbullet. I'm the administrator of w:c:wolfenstein but in my spare time I like to trawl Wikia looking for foreign-language wikis to have interlanguage links made to their English counterparts. I've taken a very thorough three-step search for foreign-language Sonic wikis and this is what I've found.

The wikis, by language

I begin with languages for which this wiki has an interlanguage link successfully made.

Some languages have more than one wiki; only the first listed (highlighted) is unlinked. No further links can be made to these other wikis without unlinking the first wiki.

Unlinked languages

These languages have no link to this wiki. I'd strongly recommend they be linked.

Some languages have more than one wiki; only one from each language can be linked. My suggestion is highlighted.

Suggested changes

As the administrator of my own w:c:wolfenstein I would strongly recommend that you have interlanguage links made from all the highlighted and unlinked wikis to this one, to the already-linked wikis, and to each other. This will foster the growth of the foreign-language wikis.

You can make the links yourself at w:Community Central:Interlanguage link requests. Or you can let me take care of it: I do this for a lot of wikis and I know what I'm doing. In any case, I'll await administrator permission before I act in any way. I'd recommend all the wikis be linked, but if you prefer less (or if you prefer a wiki other than my suggestion) then I will gladly obey. What do you think? Also, it's rare I say anything about this, but if you look at the French (fr:) wikis (it's with the linked wikis) you'll notice that there is an unlinked wiki that is actually much larger than the linked wiki. It is possible to change the wiki to which an interlanguage link leads, meaning the larger wiki would replace the other wiki in all links on this site. I would not recommend this, but you can consider it. Elecbullet (talk) 02:56, January 27, 2013 (UTC)

This is great stuff, thanks for doing it. Can you please organise the additional interlanguage links? As for the French wikis, if you actually go through the pages you'll see that although the other wiki has more pages, it doesn't have as much actual content or information, so I don't think we should change it. I've added the two other existing interlanguage links you've identified to the main page. -- Supermorff (talk) 18:55, January 27, 2013 (UTC)

Thank you! The additional links have gone through. Here is the request, for reference. I place it in list format for compatibility with a script Monchoman45 wrote to recursively do the links- that saves time. Elecbullet (talk) 11:46, January 28, 2013 (UTC)
And regarding the French wikis, yes, I agree. It's very rare that I find a wiki that can compete with an already-linked wiki. Though it was in the end inadequate, I felt I should point it out at least. Elecbullet (talk) 11:50, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks! I've added the new links to the front page. Now we need to get them on all the other relevant pages. I started doing that but there are a lot and not always easy to identify. Do you have any way of speeding up the process? -- Supermorff (talk) 21:45, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

If you added every single possible interlanguage link, you'd probably triple your edit count. The most important is the Main Page link, and others are only "icing on the cake". I have no tricks up my sleeve to speed up this process, sorry, apart from perhaps Special:Withoutinterwiki. Elecbullet (talk) 03:19, February 9, 2013 (UTC)
