The Fortune Boost is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Fortune Boost's icon takes form of three Fortune Cards arrange as a barrier, in front of pink form around with sparkles and hearts on it. In gameplay, Fortune Teller Amy flies forward the track while the cards begin to surround her, making an aforementioned barrier.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Fortune Boost can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Fortune Teller Amy .
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Fortune Boost by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Fortune Boost will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. The duration of the Fortune Boost is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Fortune Boost is in effect. Also, should the user take damage while the Fortune Boost is in effect, the Fortune Boost will negate the damage and slowdown the user would otherwise receive, like a Shield , though at the cost of the Fortune Boost ending prematurely.
The Fortune Boost can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. For each upgrade, the Fortune Boost will last longer.
