The fog machines were built by Dr. Eggman to spread the Phantasmal Fog in Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games 3DS story mode.
Appearance
The fog machines have egg like shapes (being built by Eggman). The machines are mostly red, grey, yellow and black with four standing legs. At the top of each are a spewer with fans inside that spreads the fog. At the top is a bulb that must be broken to disable/ destroy the machie. This contains the fog and the power source. It appears the fog is being transmited to the machines. Since these machines are the source the fog is much thicker around it.
Holograms
Though only one was seen Eggman said he created machine holograms to help hide and protect them.
Purpose/ Abilites
The main porpus was to spread the Phantasmal Fog.
