The Flying Chopper[1] is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, piranha-based Badnik model created by Dr. Robotnik, who used it during the Master Robot incident.
Appearance[]
Based on piranhas, the Flying Choppers look very similar to the Choppers, although they are much smaller than Sonic himself. They have a red mechanical body with a silver dorsal fin, pectoral fins, anal fin and fishtail. They also have serrated teeth.
Overview[]
In Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8-bit), the Flying Choppers only appear in Crystal Egg Zone. In gameplay, the Flying Choppers slowly float backwards and forwards while chomping on empty air. These enemies are barely a threat to the player as they do not cross the player while running. They can easily be defeated with a Spin Jump. Like other Badniks in the 8-bit games, they do not release an Animal upon their destruction.
Powers and abilities[]
The Flying Choppers are capable of flight, hence their name.
