The Flybot767 (フライボット767 Furaibotto 767?),[1] also known as simply Flybot[2] and later known in Japan as Möwe (メーベ Mēbe?),[3] is a seagull-type Badnik created by Dr. Robotnik. These Badniks only appear at Launch Base Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles). It is colored red above and grey below.
Attack pattern
Flybot767 badniks are for the most part, summoned by the numerous alarm systems that are placed throughout the Launch Base Zone (they may also appear regularly in Act 2 of said Zone,) and will immediately appear to dive-bomb the player when they go past an alarm system. However, they possess no particular attack capabilities or defenses, other than the aforementioned ability to dive-bomb, and can be easily destroyed if the player performs a Spin Attack or stays in the Spin Dash position.
Trivia
- It is possible to earn huge numbers of points in the Launch Base Zone by standing in front of the first alarm and staying in the Spin Dash position. Flybot767s will continually dive-bomb the player and be destroyed.
- The second Japanese name (meaning Möwe) is derived from the German word for a gull.
