The Flue Shot is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Trap Item used primarily to obstruct opposing rivals' path.
Description[]
The Flue Shot takes the form of a stereotypical red brick chimney with a gray mouth and while snow on its foot while a yellow iron ball with gray spikes and a red bow wrapped around it is expelled from it, both as an icon and on the tracks.
Overview[]
In gameplay, the Flue Shot can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Elf Classic Sonic and Santa Big. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic can also use the Flue Shot if he uses the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned users.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Flue Shot by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Flue Shot will drop its chimneys some distance ahead of the user's current location on all the lanes that the user is not currently on. Shortly after being deployed, half of these chimneys will then expel one of the Flue Shot's iron balls and keep them suspended above them; which one of these chimneys that will expel an iron ball is chosen at random. If a character, including the user themselves, touches the Flue Shot's chimney or iron ball, they will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. To avoid the Flue Shot, the playable character must jump over the chimneys with no iron ball above them or run in-between them. Especially, all of the spear pillars will spring the opposite height from their initial for short time.
The Flue Shot can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 4, 10 and 16 respectively. For each upgrade, the player will increase the damage dealt with the Flue Shot.
