The Flame Shield is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It was a force-field created by Hope Kintobor which could temporarily generate a spherical, flaming shield around its user.
History[]
Hope Kintobor was working on the Flame Shield but could not stabilize it. However, she eventually finished it to help E-123 Omega with Dr. Eggman's invasion of Central City at the time. When her half-brother Snively arrived and wanted Hope to join him for world domination, Hope used the Flame Shield to force Snively to leave her lab. When the battle was over, Omega came to comfort a crying Hope as the Flame Shield went away.[1]

- The Flame Shield was one of three Shield types introduced in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles.
