The Flail of Disaster is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Flail of Disaster's icon takes the form of the spiked-ball flail, moves that leaves the trail. Both as an icon and on the track.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Flail of Disaster can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Gladiator Knuckles . As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Flail of Disaster if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Flail of Disaster by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the user activates the flail of the power-up performing the spin that can damage rival characters nearby, including in adjacent lanes, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. The duration of the Flail of Disaster is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Flail of Disaster is in effect. Once the duration limit reached, the user launches a flail that travels down the lane it was deployed on in front of the user. While this flail will pass through the rival characters it hits, it will dissipate if it travels too far. Any rival characters hit by the Flail of Disaster will also be damaged with same type as mentioned. To avoid the Flail of Disaster's both slash and shot attack, the playable character either has to step out the lane or jump over it.
The Flail of Disaster can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6, 12 and 18 respectively. For level 6 and 12, the player will increase the damage dealt with the Flail of Disaster. For level 18, however, the user will more likely get two of the Flail of Disaster from a single Item Box.
Trivia [ ] Despite unshown the addition of the upgrade, the Flail of Disaster can increase likely to get multiple of the power-up. For level 6, the Flail of Disaster will have likely to get two of the power-up, while for level 12, it will have chance to get three. [ 1] References [ ]
