Fixit, Sonic Universe #64

Fixit the Robot is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog and its spin-off comic series published by Archie Comics. In the Post-Super Genesis Wave timeline, Fixit is an Angel Island inhabitant.

Appearance

Fixit's appearance is extremely similar to that of a standard Gizoid model. However, it lacks legs and has head plates on its head that resembles a cap rather than a horn. It also carries a garbage-like canister on its back and only has three fingers. It is mostly colored in several shades of tan and orange, and has green eyes.

History

The Great Chaos Caper

On the peak of the Shattered World Crisis, Knuckles the Echidna searches for someone who can watch the Master Emerald at the Launch Base Zone located on Angel Island before he searches for the Chaos Emeralds. Relic the Pika and Fixit at the Launch Base Zone are attempting to call the surface of Sonic's World, but are unsuccessful due to limitations of their technology. Knuckles then asks Relic and Fixit if they can watch the Master Emerald, and the two agree.[1]

Relic tried to work with the computer again, but to no avail. Fixit tried to help her by interfacing himself with the network, but got electrocuted in the process, much to Relic's horror. Fixit tells her that he sensed a strange alien energy coming from the Mushroom Hill Zone. Relic was confused, but decided to investigate, with the plan to run if anyone tries to assault them.[2]

Upon getting there, Fixit detected that the energy readings were low, and Relic discovered a strangely colored plant, and noted the lack of nutrients the soil had. Fixit and Relic decided to collect samples and analyze them at the Flying Battery Wreckage. They leave, unaware that they were being watched.[3]

After Fixit restored the power in the Flying Battery, Relic analyzed the samples with a computer. Fixit reported that the database could not identify these samples, making Relic concerned that these samples were not from their planet.[4]

Total Eclipse

While Tikal took Chip to the Hidden Palace for safety, Fixit and Relic discussed with Knuckles about the Shattered World Crisis, and then saw Team Dark arriving on Angel Island, searching for Eclipse the Darkling and his Dark Arms. They decide to work together and Fixit links up with Omega, (providing an awkward encounter to him). While Knuckles went with Omega and Rouge to find Eclipse's ship, Fixit stayed behind along with Relic, Shadow, and Snively to guard the Master Emerald.[5] Later Eclipse arrives and engages combat with Shadow, while Fixit calls the others about the situation. Eclipse retreats, and Shadow decides to move the Emerald to a G.U.N. facility, but Knuckles fights him.[6] Rouge suggests to wait for them to come back and they watch the Emerald.[7]

Later, Eclipse returns with his Dark Arms and manages to defeat Omega and Rouge. Unable to fight them, Fixit and Relic watch as Eclipse and the Dark Arms get away with the Master Emerald.[7] However, Fixit manages to fix Omega's Chaos Drive back in place, and Rouge calls Shadow and tells them what happened. Fixit and the others head into a hidden control room where they activated the traps to delay Eclipse long enough for Shadow and Knuckles to intercept him. In the process, Knuckles shatters the Master Emerald, but the island stays afloat, and Eclipse gets away with his Dark Arms. Soon, Team Dark departed from the island. Fixit decides to stay on the island with Relic while Knuckles went in search of the Master Emerald shards.[8]

Personality

Speaking in a rich English accent, Fixit is excessively polite and formal, addressing both Knuckles and Pika with titles. He is likewise quite helpful, similar to a butler. He has trouble understanding analogies though.

Powers and abilities

Fixit has the ability to levitate, allowing him to move in midair. He is also able to interface with the ancient technology on Angel Island, though he is currently not fully compatible with the post-Eggman affected systems.

Trivia

  • Fixit's name is a combination between the words "fix" and "it."
