Not to be confused with the Power Formation, Fireball. For the obstacle in Sonic Heroes, see Fireball (obstacle).
A Projectile Item.
Fireball is a Projectile Item that appears in .
Sonic Forces: Speed Battle
The Fireball takes the form of a ball of flame that is launched by the user.
Knuckles launching a Fireball.
In gameplay, the Fireball can only be obtained at random from
Item Boxes by Knuckles, Sonic, Vector, and Zavok. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic can also use the Fireball if he uses the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned users.
When used, it will fly down the lane it was deployed on at high speed. However, it will dissipate when it hits a player, collides with an obstacle, or travels off course. Opponents hit by the Fireball will be slowed down heavily and lose
Rings. Players also have a chance to find two Fireballs in an Item Box instead of one if their level is at least 6, and three Fireballs at level 12.
Zavok starts out with a level 2 Fireball immediately when unlocked, and can level it up to level 4, which gives him a guaranteed chance to find two Fireballs in an Item Box if he is in second place or lower. He also still retains the chance of getting three Fireballs.
In order to avoid the Fireball, the player must either jump over it or step out of its lane.
