The Fire Boost is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Boost Item used primarily to increase the user's speed.

Description[]

The Fire Boost's icon takes the form of a fireball moving forward like a meteor. In gameplay, this power-up becomes a flaming orange aura that surrounds the user and leaves a flaming trail in its wake.

In gameplay, the Fire Boost can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Blaze, Lunar Blaze and Zavok.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Fire Boost by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Fire Boost will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. The duration of the Fire Boost is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Fire Boost is in effect. In addition, any rival character who makes contact with the user while the Fire Boost is in effect will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily.

The Fire Boost can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. If the user upgraded to level 2 and 14, the Fire Boost will increased speed, and if the user upgrade to level 8, the Fire Boost will increased damage.
