- [The episode starts with a shot of the Moon, until the scene changes to a flashback of the Space Colony ARK, fifty years ago. Maria can be seen walking down a hallway, about to enter a room. The door to the room opens, and Maria steps inside the room. Suddenly, a young boy named Abe runs past her. Maria looks at Abe.]
- Abe: [To Maria] Tell that freak to stay away from me!
- [Abe runs off.]
- Maria: [Gasps] Abe!
- [The door to the room closes, and Maria turns to look at Shadow, who is staring at a container holding a Death Leech. The camera changes to a close-up shot of Shadow's shaking eyes.]
- Maria: [Concerned] Shadow? Are you alright?
- [The camera cuts to Shadow's POV. He can see Maria looking at him with a concerned look on her face.]
- Shadow: Maria! I'm fine. It's just... [Shadow looks away from Maria, until he looks back at the container holding the Death Leech. Shadow stares at his reflection.] The professor created me using alien DNA. The Black Arms, he called them. The same DNA as this... larva. This ugly, heartless creature. I may look like a hedgehog, but I'm really no different than this thing.
- [Suddenly, Maria hugs Shadow.]
- Maria: That's not true! You have a big heart. It may be difficult for you to express it, but I know that deep down you really do care. [Maria places her hand on Shadow's chest. Shadow looks down at Maria's hand, until looking back up at Maria.] About me. About everyone! [Abe stares through the room's window, watching as Maria comforts Shadow. Abe begins to get frustrated. Maria grabs Shadow's hand and the hedgehog looks at her.] What you do is what defines you. I know you're having a hard time finding answers, but I'm certain you will one day.
- [Maria smiles. Soon, the screen is engulfed in a bright light, and the scene changes to the present day.]
- Maria: Then you'll find even more people you can trust.
- [The camera pans down to Hidden Base. Multiple explosions begin to happen, and many lasers are shot towards Shadow as the hedgehog approaches. He breaks down a door into Hidden Base and makes a safe landing, his eyes crackling with chaos energy. Shadow is met with an army of samurai armor-clad Egg Pawns, each wielding swords. Shadow charges at an Egg Pawn and begins to get into an intense battle with it. The Egg Pawn tries to attack Shadow using its sword, but Shadow dodges the attack, causing the Egg Pawn to throw the sword into the air. Shadow grabs the sword and throws it at the Egg Pawn. Soon, another Egg Pawn approaches, and it begins swinging its sword at Shadow, but the hedgehog dodges. Shadow grabs the Egg Pawn's leg and spins it around rapidly, throwing it at a tall tower.]
- Omega: Face me, inferior models!
- [Shadow turns to see that Omega has arrived to help take down the Egg Pawns. He shoots down at multiple Egg Pawns. Soon, Rouge arrives, and she flies in the air, looking down at the sight. She gasps, noticing that another Egg Pawn is about to strike at Shadow. Rouge quickly defeats the robot.]
- Rouge: Evening, handsome. [Rouge grunts, jumping off the robot and lands in front of Shadow.] Didn't expect to see you here.
- [Both Shadow and Rouge notice that there are two Egg Pawns about to attack them, but they quickly defend themselves.]
- Shadow: Rouge. What're you doing here?
- [Shadow punches an Egg Pawn. Suddenly, another Egg Pawn approaches, and swings its sword at Shadow, but he dodges. Rouge continues to fight an Egg Pawn. She delivers a high kick to the Egg Pawn, until jumping on its head, spinning it around. Finally, she delivers another high kick to the robot, taking it down. She runs up to a keyboard and begins typing on it.]
- Rouge: Just gathering some intel for G.U.N. I convinced Omega to be my backup. What's your story?
- [Shadow continues to fight another Egg Pawn. He dodges every attack that the Egg Pawn tries to do with its sword, and punches the robot, soon delivering a high kick to the robot. He grabs the Egg Pawn's sword and uses it to throw the Egg Pawn to a far distance.]
- Shadow: I need a spacecraft to reach the ARK! I have reason to believe the Black Arms have returned.
- Rouge: Well, you're out of luck here. This is just a supply depot.
- [Suddenly, Shadow grabs Rouge and saves her from an attack. Shadow and Rouge look up to see a giant Egg Breaker. The robot jumps down and faces Shadow and Rouge. They get up and face the robot as well, ready to attack it. Omega arrives to help them.]
- Rouge: Hold that thought.
- Omega: I call dibs!
- [The Egg Breaker throws its giant spiked ball into the ground, causing rocks to launch into the air and fly towards Team Dark.]
- Shadow: Take it out!
- [Shadow charges at the Egg Breaker, while Rouge flies into the air, and Omega speeds off. Shadow looks up to see a rock flying towards him, but he dodges. Shadow goes to attack the Egg Breaker. Omega shoots multiple times at the Egg Breaker, destroying one of its legs. The Egg Breaker falls to the ground, and Rouge flies past it. The Egg Breaker looks up at Rouge and its eyes glow red, trying to fire lasers at Rouge, but she dodges. Soon, the Egg Breaker tries to use its giant spiked ball and launches it into the air towards Rouge, but it misses again. Rouge takes down the Egg Breaker's giant spiked ball, while Shadow slides in and Spin Attacks against many of the rocks in the air, so that he can take down the robot. Finally, Shadow delivers a powerful punch to the Egg Breaker, which causes an explosion to happen. Rouge flies down towards Shadow.]
- Rouge: Now about this spacecraft. I can take you to a ship, but in return, you're going to have to promise to come to Sonic's birthday party.
- Shadow: [Closes his eyes] Ugh.
- Rouge: I'll take that as a yes. Now then, interested in raiding a G.U.N. base?
- [The episode ends and the credits roll.]

- [As Shadow continues not to respond, Maria's expression darkens.]

Swiftly dodging the lasers, he breaks down a door into Hidden Base with a charged Spin Dash and makes a safe landing, his eyes crackling with chaos energy. Shadow is met with an army of samurai armor-clad Egg Pawns, each wielding swords. Shadow charges at an Egg Pawn and begins to get into an intense battle with it. The Egg Pawn tries to attack Shadow using its sword, but Shadow dodges the attack, causing the Egg Pawn to throw the sword into the air. Shadow grabs the sword and throws it at the Egg Pawn. Soon, another Egg Pawn approaches, and it begins swinging its sword at Shadow, but the hedgehog dodges. Shadow grabs the Egg Pawn's leg and spins it around rapidly, throwing it at a tall tower. He then kicks the sword out of another Egg Pawn's hands and uses it, swinging the sword around to destroy two more Egg Pawns. Shadow hears the sound of gunshots behind him and looks back to see Omega.]
- Omega: Face me, inferior models!
- [Omega shoots down at multiple Egg Pawns. Soon, Rouge arrives, and she flies in the air, looking down at the sight. She gasps and flies down to Shadow. As Shadow notices that another Egg Pawn is about to strike at him, Rouge quickly defeats the robot.]

- [The Egg Breaker throws its giant spiked ball into the ground, causing rocks to launch into the air and fly towards Team Dark.]
- Shadow: Take it out!
- [Shadow charges at the Egg Breaker, while Rouge flies into the air, and Omega speeds off. Omega's jets begin to fire blue plasma as he rapidly approaches the Egg Breaker. The enemy robot strikes the ground with its mace, which sends a shockwave of rocks flying into the air. Omega uses the rocks as a ramp and fires a blue laser beam out of his left arm cannon, destroying one of its legs. The Egg Breaker looks up at Rouge and its eyes glow red, trying to fire lasers at Rouge, but she dodges. Soon, the Egg Breaker tries to use its giant spiked ball and launches it into the air towards Rouge, but it misses again. Rouge takes down the Egg Breaker's giant spiked ball, while Shadow slides in and repeatedly Spin Attacks against the robot, launching many of the rocks in the air. Finally, Shadow delivers a powerful punch to the Egg Breaker, causing an explosion to happen. Team Dark look down at the Egg Breaker's remains.]
- Rouge: So... you were saying world-conquering aliens are coming back to destroy us all?
- Shadow: I can't be sure. I'm relying on an... old connection. That's why I must reach the ARK.
- Rouge: Well, you're out of luck here. This is just a supply depot. But I do know where we can get you a spacecraft this time of night. Interested in raiding a G.U.N. base?
- Shadow: Hmph. Whatever it takes.
- Rouge: I know just the place! But it'll cost you.
- Shadow: What do you want?
- Rouge: Once you're done with your mission, you have to hurry back and join me at Sonic's birthday party.
- [A clip of Sonic's birthday party from Sonic Generations is briefly shown.]
- Shadow: [Facepalms] Ugh. Why?
- Rouge: Because the look on both your faces will be priceless!
- [Shadow groans.]
- Rouge: I'll take that as a yes! And what about you, big guy?
- [Rouge flies over to Omega.]
- Omega: Eggman robots. G.U.N. robots. The distinction is irrelevant. [Strikes a flexing pose] I will prove I am the strongest combat robot!
- Rouge: [Claps her hands together] Then we have plans for the evening!
- Shadow: Let's move.
- [Shadow runs forward.]
