The Statue of Aypex[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It was a statue on Thoraxia, built by the Blodex in honor of their legendary champion Aypex.

Description[]

Appearance[]

The Statue of Aypex is a tall stone statue depicting Aypex, a standard-looking Blodex holding six red Chaos Emeralds in his outstretched arms. It is unknown how accurate the statue is to Aypex's true appearance, however.[1]

History[]

Past[]

The Statue of Aypex was built by the Blodex people in their city, both for the purpose of honoring Aypex for his defeat of the Bzzz, and holding six of the red Chaos Emeralds.[1]

Tossed in Space[]

Having been tossed across the galaxy to Thoraxia, Sonic was brought to the Blodex city, where he was shown the Statue of Aypex while he was touring it with his guide, Deeble. However, when the Bzzz attacked the city later that night, Sonic ran back to the statue in order to use the power of the six Chaos Emeralds it held against the invaders. He absorbed the energy from the red Chaos Emeralds, which created an independent manifestation of Super Sonic who destroyed the Bzzz.[1][2]

Order From Chaos[]

The Six red Chaos Emeralds held by the Statue of Aypex would later be drawn away from it by A.D.A.M.'s Summoning Spire, much to the astonishment of the nearby Blodex.[3]
