Resembling pterodactyls, from which they derive their name, the Pteras have round blue bodies with a yellow rim on their torso's top and rear. They also have a gray cable-like neck with a pointy blue head, black eyes, and a long blue beak with a yellow lower jaw. They also have wings that are split into three segments with yellow circles on the bottom of each wing segment. Lastly, they have a gray cable-like tail with a pointy blue end.

Game appearances[]

Sonic Rush Adventure[]

In Sonic Rush Adventure, the Pteras appear as enemies, They are encountered in Plant Kingdom, Hidden Island 6, and Hidden Island 7. In gameplay, they fly back and forth within their designated flying space. When they detect a playable character nearby however, they will stop up briefly and swoop down into the playable character with their beaks, thereby inflicting damage. Afterward, they return to their old flying patterns and wait until they can attack again. Other than that, they are easily destroyed with a Spin Jump/Axel Jump or a Super Boost/Fire Boost.
