• Sonic's pose on the book cover bears resemblance to his pose for one of the concept artwork pieces from Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit).
• Antoine confirms at one point in the book that Robotnik's fortress used to be one of the royal palaces on Mobius.
  • He also confirms that Robotnik's bedroom used to be the King's and that there used to be a safe near the bed.
• Sally's vest is colored pink on the cover, as opposed to the blue colored vest worn by her television series counterpart.
• This is the first book in the series to depict the Freedom Fighters in their season two designs.
• The King of Mobius's Freedom Fighter list is noticeably different than in the Sonic the Hedgehog television series. Here, it is a piece of paper as opposed to a computerized module.
• Dr. Robotnik is depicted in his Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog design in this novel. This would carry over into Sonic the Hedgehog: Friend or Foe?, Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic X-Treme.
