The Chao Pod[2] (チャオポッド Chao Poddo?) is a vehicle that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is the personal racing car for the Chao, specially created by Dodon Pa for the Chao to let them participate in his Grand Prix competition. Unlike other cars, the Chao Pod has four seats and is operated by four Chao at a time.

Description[]

Personalized specifically for the Chao, the default Chao Pod has a light blue upper half and a dark blue lower half. It is also outfitted with four wheels that are blue and covered with yellow guards. It also features a large glass dome containing three orange sets which the Neutral, Hero and Dark Chao sit in to drive. Behind the dome is a yellow seat which Omochao sits in to communicate with his Chao teammates. Lastly, it features two yellow circle-shaped headlights reminiscent of eyes.

Like other cars in Team Sonic Racing, its appearance can be customized with different paint jobs, Performance Parts and decals. Its horn can also be changed.

The Chao Pod's base stats in Team Sonic Racing.

In Team Sonic Racing, the Chao Pod appears as the Chao's race car, specially created by Dodon Pa for the Chao. During the events of the game, the Chao Pod was one of the cars Dodon Pa gave Team Rose's Chao (Neutral Chao, Hero Chao, Dark Chao and Omochao) and their friends so they could compete in his Grand Prix competition. The Chao would afterward use it during the races and challenges they participated in. However, the Chao Pod was eventually destroyed when the heroes had to leave it aboard the crashing Final Fortress. Fortunately, Dodon Pa promised to replace it with a new one.

In this game, the Chao Pod's basic statistics show it has high acceleration and handling, albeit with a moderate boost, defense and top speed stat (curiously mirroring the base stats of Eggman's Egg Booster). However, its statistics, as well as its artistic design, can be modified by replacing its parts.

The Chao Pod has the following exclusive Performance Parts that can be used to modify it:
