Captain Finny[1] is a character that appears in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series. He is an anthropomorphic raccoon who used Sonic as a secret weapon to destroy some dangerous icebergs in his ship's path. He is the captain of the M.S.S. Gigantic.

Finny is an anthropomorphic raccoon with gray fur. He wears a white sailor hat and a blue sweater.[1]

Season one[]
Captain Finny was piloting the M.S.S. Gigantic through stormy water when one of his crew mates told him there were icebergs up ahead. Finny told him not to worry and went over to a telephone. Finny told the crew that there were icebergs up ahead and asked them to send up their secret weapon. After a crew member asked Finny if he should slow down the ship, Sonic and Tails came through a door dancing and wearing sailor suits. Finny told the crew member that Sonic was their secret weapon and he brought him along to help get through the icebergs. Sonic, eager to help, asked to be pointed in the right direction so he could "buzz saw those icebergs into snow cones". Looking ahead, Sonic saw a lighthouse in front of them, which Finny told Sonic it was called Lighthouse One, and that was the most important lighthouse on Mobius. Just after, the lighthouse's light shut off, forcing Finny to anchor the ship at sea. After Sonic and Tails went to check it out, they would up travelling all over Mobius to thwart another of Dr. Robotnik's schemes. Just as Sonic was arriving back at the lighthouse, the anchor holding the M.S.S. Gigantic broke, causing the ship to drift directly towards the icebergs. Thankfully, Sonic intervened just in time, and Tails brought him aboard the ship to rest.[1]

- Despite being a raccoon, Captain Finny looks more like a seal or an otter.
