The Fennec Male[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic Boom series. He is an anthropomorphic fennec fox who lives in Hedgehog Village,[2] where he works in a small shop.[3]
Appearance[]
The Fennec Male is an anthropomorphic fennec fox with fallow fur, a long muzzle, and green eyes. He is somewhat tall and thin, like Dave the Intern, but with a less scrawny and lanky body posture. He also has buff fur on his stomach and muzzle, a black nose, cheek turfs, long triangular ears that point slightly downward, and a thick tail with a brown tip. For attire, he wears a blue cap with a tropical island emblem on the front, a blue open vest, white gloves, and blue and white sneakers with a tropical island symbol on the sides.
History[]
TV series[]
Season two[]
Hearing that an asteroid would impact the earth, the Fennec Male showed up to buy a spot in Eggman's bunker to ride out the impending apocalypse in. Team Sonic, however, would stop the asteroid.[4] The Fennec Male later saw Team Sonic in the Village Center, but fled as Dr. Eggman ambushed said location.[5] Another time, he came to Career Day to hear other people elaborate on their careers.[6]
While subtly hypnotized by Dreamcaster's TV broadcasts, the Fennec Male angrily faced Sticks when she disturbed him with her unlikely story about Dreamcaster on TV. The Fennec Male soon after became Dr. Eggman's zombie slave, who had him and the hypnotized villagers build a world-controlling satellite. He would later attack Sticks when she came to the rescue but was freed when Team Sonic foiled Eggman's plan.[7] The Fennec Male was later inspired to buy some Fuzzy Puppy figurines from Orbot and resell one of them to a mystery buyer, unaware that Orbot was manipulating him.[8]
Back home, the Fennec Male met Knuckles when he came by, but rejected the echidna's request to join his family.[2] The Fennec Male later went to Meh Burger, where Sonic cut in front of him in his mech suit, before returning to his workplace where he serviced Perci and Staci.[3] During the Froglodytes' invasion of the Village soon after, the Fennec Male would get chased by these fiendish frogs.[9] The Fennec Male would later eventually riot when the Village experienced a power outage, but he calmed down once Team Sonic got the power back on.[10] Another time, the Fennec Male learned at a town meeting that their village was named after Sticks' evil ancestor, Jebediah Badger, which made him scorn Sticks. Eventually wanting the town renamed, he agreed to a referendum between Amy and Eggman's name propositions at another meeting. Before the vote though, the Fennec Male got enticed by Eggman's campaign.[11]
Coming to Meh Burger, the Fennec Male received premium service from the new robot employees (courtesy of Eggman) before watching Dave the Intern lose his job to one of these robots in a contest. Upon attenting the reopening of the improved Meh Burger however, the Fennec Male and the villagers got trapped in a force-field and sent towards space in Meh Burger by Eggman. Thanks to Team Sonic and Dave though, the Fennec Male was rescued, along with Meh Burger.[12] When Tails later seemingly proved Muckfoot's existence with a photo, the Fennec Male would praise Tails as a hero and take part in the ensuing Muckfoot Mania. However, he would scorn Tails when the fox showed that his "Muckfoot" was just Knuckles covered in mud.[13] Shortly thereafter, after celebrating the withdrawal of hostile robots from the Village, the Fennec Male skipped out on the subsequent cleanup of the town.[14] The Fennec Male would afterward watch a match between the Lightning Bowler Society and the Pin Dashers, where he became a fan of the former when they won.[15]
Traveling to the other side of the island to clean a stage for Dude-itude's concert, which was scheduled for next month, the Fennec Male saw Dude-itude arrive and told them that they were too early.[16] When local gossip then revealed that Dr. Eggman was no doctor, the Fennec Male began seeing him as a joke. He thus joined the villagers in mocking Eggman during the scientist's next trip to the Village. He later got robbed of a rubber gasket by Eggman, but Team Sonic ensured that he got it back. When Eggman then earned his doctorate, the Fennec Male watched his graduation ceremony.[17] Some time after, the Fennec Male would wait in line during the evening to visit T.W. Barker's Haunted Forest. He would also try to visit Barker's newly-acquired "haunted lair" a few days later. However, he forwent the lair when he heard Eggman, who got tossed out of the lair, rant about it being a hoax.[18]
Back in the Village, the Fennec Male came under attack by Cubot when the latter went nuts and gained new gravity powers. Although Sticks tried to help him when he got caught in the grasp of Cubot's gravity powers, the Fennec Male soon got taken towards space by Cubot. Thanks to Sonic and Tails though, the Fennec Male was brought down to earth again before he died from asphyxia.[19] Following that, the Fennec Male would go see a soccer match between Team Sonic and Team Cybonic that would decide the closed rec center's fate. When Team Sonic won, Mayor Fink declared that the rec center would be reopened.[20] The Fennec Male later went to Meh Burger where he had a laugh from watching Morpho's poor attempt to impersonate Sonic.[21] When Race Day arrived several months later, the Fennec Male would watch said event's auto race competition at its site.[22] He later almost got lured into a scam by T.W. Barker had Sonic not intervened. Getting into Scrambler after that, the Fennec Male was able to attend an exclusive promotional event through it.[23]
When the newest pie festival arrived, the Fennec Male participated in this event.[24] Some time later, the Fennec Male was busy stacking watermelons until a cute creature came by and messed his work up.[25] He later paid a visit to Knuckles' gym before coming to the Village's open mic night. The Fennec Male soon after went to open mic night again, only to run away from there after D-Fekt arrived and became excessively hostile.[26]
