Fast Friends are a group of Friends/Pets in Sonic Speed Simulator that were added in the 2.38 Update on November 10, 2023. They typically appear as small robot versions of important characters labelled as "Toy Robots", and have multiple unique mechanics associated with them.
Fast Friends were first introduced alongside an event, vending machine, and two purchasable bundles for Robux. The Event gave the player a total of five Toy Robot Sonics upon completion. The vending machine costed one Red Star Ring per use. The basic odds are as follows:
Cyan Chao: 27.8%
White Chao: 27.8%
Blue Chao: 27.8%
Toy Robot Sonic: 5.5%
Toy Robot Shadow: 5.5%
Toy Robot Knuckles: 5.5%
The odds for the Toy Robots can be improved if the player has equipped certain Friends with the Luck enchantment.
Additionally, Fast Friends have been made obtainable as part of character events, seasonal shops or in the monthly race shop.
On 18 May, 2024, during the "Overpowered Silver Event" several fast Friend vending machines were placed in a majority of the worlds with each world containing two of the core fast friends (with the Toy Robot Metal Sonic being added in an earlier update). The fast friends, their location, cost and base chances can be found as follows:
Unlike regular Friends, the player can not upgrade a Fast Friend. Fusing a Fast Friend also functions differently than standard Friends. They can be fused multiple times, starting at one Star and getting a star each successful attempt until it ends at six Stars. Each tier more powerful than the previous.
At the dedicated Fast Friend Fusion Machine, the player must choose the desired Fast Friend they want to fuse, then pick up to five compatible Friends, typically Fast Friends, but certain regular friends also will work. These additional Friends will increase the probability of getting a fused Fast Friend, from nearly impossible with no Friends selected to 100% certainty with five Fast Friends of the same tier. It does not consume any Friends until a successful attempt.
It costs Red Star Rings every attempt, with the price increasing every tier like so:
1 Star -> 2 Stars: 20 Red Star Rings.
2 Stars -> 3 Stars: 50 Red Star Rings.
3 Stars -> 4 Stars: 200 Red Star Rings.
4 Stars -> 5 Stars: 300 Red Star Rings.
5 Stars -> 6 Stars: 500 Red Star Rings.

Fast Friends have unique ways of giving the player stat boosts. Instead of it being primarily based on predetermined stats, they give a percentage of the players best possible selection of regular Friends and Trails for each stat separately (XP, Rings, and Damage).
At higher tiers, each of the three types of Fast Friend have special enchants:
Toy Robot Sonic, Holiday Toy Robot Tails, Holiday Toy Robot Amy, and Toy Robot Cream get Luck
Toy Robot Shadow, Toy Robot Amy, Holiday Toy Robot Sonic, Holiday Toy Robot Blaze, Toy Robot Super Sonic, and Toy Robot Blaze get Stamina
Toy Robot Knuckles, Toy Robot Tails, Toy Robot T.H. Knuckles, Holiday Toy Robot Knuckles, Holiday Toy Robot Shadow, and Toy Robot Silver get Magnet
Currently, two Fast Friends feature two stats.
Toy Metal Sonic's have both Stamina and Luck bonuses.
Cheese has two stats likely due to their rarity (only one was made obtainable during the 2024 "Eggstra Foolish Event"). Cheese features both Luck and an Event Bonus stats.

1 Star: 90% of Best Stats
2 Stars: 100% of Best Stats + 2 Enchant
3 Stars: 110% of Best Stats + 4 Enchant
4 Stars: 120% of Best Stats + 7 Enchant
5 Stars: 130% of Best Stats + 9 Enchant
6 Stars: 150% of Best Stats + 12 Enchant
Visually, the Fast Friends change appearance every tier increase:
1 Star: Same color as the original character. No aura.
5 Stars: Yellow, likely a super transformation, with a large yellow and pink aura.
6 Stars: Yellow, likely a super transformation, with a rainbow aura.
Mastering[]
This is a upcoming feature that has only been teased in game, where if the player fuses a Fast Friend to a high enough point, they can potentially be used in the future to "Master" the original skin (Sonic, Knuckles, and Shadow). What this entails is not yet known.
