Explosive Crate is a gimmick that appeared in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). It is simply a variant of the regular Container that explodes when hit.

Description

Explosive Crate is a red container with fire-like symbol on it's center. This Crate has the ability to create an explodes of fire which is powerful enough to destroy the Egg Gunners, however it will damage the other enemies only. This Crate is very sensitive and will explodes when hit by any thing which make it less useful in big combats. It can also be used for gaining points as if there were enemies near it and the player hit it and it's explosion destroyed them all then it will give the player 600 pts when done successfully.

In gameplay, it can be used by all the characters and it can also manipulated by Psychokinesis, however because it is very sensitive, the user has to be careful when throwing it as it can explode before even being threw.
