The Evil One, also known as the Dark One, is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It was a demonic spirit native to the Nameless Zone. It was responsible for transforming the Enchanter King Shirob into Trogg.[1]

History

Some time later, Trogg used the Dark Orb to summon the Dark One again in order to transform the other Enchanter Kings in the same way as he had been. The Dark One demonstrated incredible power, effortlessly incapacitating Tails, Knuckles and Morain.[2] It successfully transformed the Enchanter Kings into monsters like Trogg, but was destroyed (and the transformations reversed) when Tails threw the Dark Orb into the "non-existent space" below the Dimension Bridge.[3]

Trivia

  • "Dark One" and "Evil One" are merely titles. Trogg also once referred to the being as "the one whose name is never spoken".[2]
  • In the original proposal for the "Revenge of Trogg" story, dated 4 April 1995, writer Nigel Kitching commented that the Dark One was the Nameless Zone's equivalent of the Devil.[4]
