Everhold Prison[1] is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. It is a prison facility on Earth where some of the worst criminals in the world are being held.
Description[]
Everhold Prison is a large prison complex with a single walled passage leading into the main facility. Curiously, the complex's entire shape resembles a classical guitar's. The prison has its own inner courtyard, an office for the warden, and a control room, which is also responsible for the security. From there, one can control the opening and closing of the cell doors and the communication within the facility. Everhold Prison also has wings for both ordinary prisoners, within which there is an ordinary canteen, and a special, separate, maximum-security wing for the most dangerous criminals. The latter in particular has cells customized to the individual prisoner to accommodate for their skills and powers.[1]
The prison is patrolled by guards armed with Hover Wispons, which are powered by Green Wisps. The warden also has a remote control that allows one to trigger the alarm throughout the facility and close doors that open only to the warden's voice.[1]
History[]
Tangle & Whisper[]
After being caught by Tangle and Whisper, Mimic was sent to Everhold Prison's maximum-security wing by Tails in a Test Chamber designed to hold him.[2]
Out of the Blue[]
Following the halt of the Zombot apocalypse, Zavok was imprisoned in Everhold Prison's maximum-security wing after he was defeated by Sonic and his allies.[3]
Bad Guys[]
Not long after, Rough and Tumble were imprisoned in the maximum-security wing of Everhold Prison as well after trying to take over Barricade Town. Soon after, Dr. Starline arrived at the prison and, using his hypnosis equipment, manipulated the guards and the prison warden to lead him into the maximum-security wing. After making the warden fall asleep there, Starline persuaded Mimic, Rough, Tumble, and Zavok to join forces with him. The villains subsequently united to escape the prison, which the warden had put on high alert shortly afterward. Defeating the guards with both brute force and by sabotaging their Hover Wispons, the villains broke into the control room. There, Starline, on orders from Zavok, opened all the cells and damaged communications throughout the facility to create chaos. As a result, numerous prisoners began attacking the guards, while Starline and his team took advantage of the confusion and used it to escape the collapsing prison.[1]
Trivia[]
- Like Prison Island from Sonic X, Everhold Prison appears to be in the shape of an acoustic guitar.
