Plot[]
The episode starts with Sonic's friends fighting off some Badniks and wondering where he is, then it switches to Sonic's fight with Shadow. Sonic then said Dr. Eggman was behind Shadow as a distraction to Spin Dash him. As Sonic ran to the Temple Mountain, Shadow was able to free himself from under the rocks and chased after him, running past Big and Froggy and up the Temple Mountain.
At present time, in New Yoke City, as Rusty Rose was about to throw her punch at Sonic, Nine saved him by taking control of Rusty. As the Chaos Council saw and wondered what happened to Rusty, Dr. Done-it ordered everyone to head to the security room with the rest of the Council running (in Dr. Babble's case, he was on all fours) but Done-it slowing down due to his age. As Rusty fought off some Eggforcers, the Council made it to the security room, and Done-it was able to catch up. After Rusty closed the door, Sonic and the rest of his friends' New Yoke City variants made some introductions. Then Nine was able to lead the way and hacked the Council's security camera. Mr. Dr. Eggman ordered the Council to patch in all of the Eggforcers for visuals, and told Dr. Deep to not let them get away. The scene then switches to Deep showing off in his mech suit and Eggman told Deep to grow up, that his dance moves stink, and to find the heroes.
As the heroes were walking across the hallway, Eggforcers were everywhere. Renegade Knucks suggested to escape, but Nine instead decided that they should get their hands on the Energy Crystal, and Sonic realised that he must be referring to the Paradox Prism, which confused the others. Sonic then suggested to take the stairs. As Sonic and his allies were falling a couple flights down, Sonic was grabbed by Deep. Sonic then fought Deep, while his allies fought off the Eggforcers. Seeing that the Eggforcers were easily taken out, Mr. Dr. Eggman ordered Dr. Don't to power up the Eggforcers to turn the tide. However, it was not enough, as Sonic taught his allies, specifically Nine and Knucks, how to Spin Dash. Knucks was able to find the exit.
As they went looking the Paradox Prism, Nine saw Sonic's shoes and Regulators, glowing meaning that it's nearby. As Deep found out where they were headed, a bunch of Eggforcers kept hitting him. Mr. DR. Eggman made to order to close the doors so that the heroes can't get in, but Deep made an order to open them so that he can follow them and stop them. Knucks thought it was hopeless, until Sonic proved him wrong by going through the lasers, getting to a canister Knucks threw and Spin Dashed it to push the Eggforcers and Deep out of the Yoke, surprising Knucks, Rebel, Rusty and Nine. As Sonic was making his way back, Dr. Babble wanted a rematch. Sonic was tired of fighting the baby and wanted to fight Done-it. Nine needed more time to hack into the system, so Sonic decided to lure Babble and some Eggforcers out of the Yoke and onto the tracks of the Scareport and a chase began on it.
As the chase continued, Babble tried to take out Sonic with his baby rattle mace and laser gun but Sonic was able to beat Babble and the Eggforcers, making his way back to the Yoke, but not before recieveing flashbacks to what happened before he shattered the Paradox Prism, due to hearing a noise at the Yoke, seeing Denizen 1998 and Froggy and running up the Yoke. As he made it back to the Yoke, Nine was able open the door to the Energy Crystal and, as they made their way inside, Mr. Dr. Eggman, in his mech, grabbed Rusty, Rouge, and Knucks. So Sonic and Nine made their way to the Paradox Prism while the others tried to hold him off.
Seeing it for the first time, Sonic saw a red Shard and thought it couldn't be the Paradox Prism because it was too tiny. Sonic remembered what the Paradox Prism looked like, and that he didn't listen to his friends' warnings, and ended up shattering the Prism and creating New Yoke City. Nine realises that the red Shard was just a piece of the Prism, understanding that there must be more out there somewhere. He then told Sonic to grab the Shard and get out, just as Mr. Dr. Eggman attempted to pry open the door. Sonic said that the original Tails told him not to touch it, but he also said that if there was anyone who could put the Shards back together and restore the Paradox Prism, it would be Nine, which he himself agreed with. Then as Sonic touched the Shard, he was then seemingly sucked into the Shard into an unknown place, leaving Nine confused about his whereabouts, ending the episode.
Regional differences[]
- The gibberish noise from Dr. Done-It as he catches up with the rest of the Council to the security room is intelligible in the Mandarin Chinese dub, calling out "等等我" ("Wait for me"). As he approaches the room, he grumbles "說話都沒有人在聽嗎?" ("Isn't anybody listening?").
- As Rusty Rose is being hacked by Nine, the slash symbol is quoted in place of the backslash code in the Indonesian/Malay (garis miring) and Vietnamese dubs ((Dấu) gạch chéo). The translation for backslash would have been garis miring terbalik and (Dấu) gạch chéo ngược respectively.
- In the English version, Dr. Deep threatens to "origami that hedgehog" upon finding Sonic, whereas in the Mandarin Chinese dub, he threatens to turn him into an "installation art piece".
