The Emerald is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a type of jewel used for currency.

The Emerald looks very similar to the Chaos Emeralds. It is a green, brilliant cut gem.
Overview[]
In Sonic Forces: Speed Battle, Emeralds were introduced in the version 5.1.0 update. They are used as a form of currency, like Rings and Red Star Rings, and serve to purchase characters in the Special rarity on the "Returning Runners" section in the Store. Emeralds can only be obtained via purchasing them from the three Emerald Chests (Platinum, Luxury and VIP) or Tails' Vault.
