The Electro Boost is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Electro Boost's icon takes the form of a sphere of pink lightning. In gameplay, this power-up becomes a white-pink aura of electricity that surrounds the user and leaves an energy trail in its wake.

In gameplay, the Electro Boost can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Gamma , Grim Sonic , Omega , Metal Sonic , Rockstar Rouge , Vampire Shadow , Zazz and Zeena .
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Electro Boost by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Electro Boost will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time and pull in Rings from adjacent lanes to be added to the player's Ring count. The duration of the Electro Boost is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Electro Boost is in effect. In addition, any rival character who makes contact with the user while the Electro Boost is in effect will be stunned, thus causing them to lose Rings and stop moving for a moment, and lose one random power-up in their inventory slots on the HUD.
The Electro Boost can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. For each upgrade, the Electro Boost will last longer. In Zeena's upgrade, her Electro Boost has first upgrade, so Zeena has fourth upgrade of Electro Boost (as well as her level 14 upgraded) which is last longer.
