The Electric Rush is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Projectile Item used to attack rivals and steal items.

Description[]

The Electric Rush's icon takes the form of a red windy blast forward, leaving the red trail with electric bolts surrounding it. In gameplay, the Electric Rush will become an aforementioned whirlwind, leaving a slipstream trail in its wake.

Overview[]

In gameplay, the Electric Rush can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Extreme Gear Shadow. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Electric Rush if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Electric Rush by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the user tosses the Electric Rush, which will travel down the lane it was deployed on in front of the user. It will be disabled when it wears off. If the user of this power-up stays in its trail while it is active, they will receive a boost in speed. In addition, any rival character who makes contact with the Electric Rush and its trail will take damage, stop for a moment, and lose randomly one of the power-ups they currently have (on the bottom of the HUD). For a minor chance, the Electric Rush will send the player up to the air and stop for a moment. To avoid the Electric Rush, the playable character has to step out its lane or jump over it.

The Electric Rush can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12 respectively. For each upgrade, the Electric Rush will increase damage.
