The Egg Shackle is an enemy that appears in Sonic Unleashed. They are a model of Badniks created by Dr. Eggman. These small robots are able to latch onto their opponents and leech them dry of Rings. They are difficult to spot at high speeds due to their small size.
The Egg Shackles bear a strong resemblance to the Egg Bursts. They are ball-like in shape with over the upper half of their body being colored dark spring green, a carrot orange ring around their lower half and a yellow underbelly. On their front they have a carrot orange circle, which serve as their face, where they have two cyan eyes and a curved felt of cyan lights, resembling a smile. On the edge of the Egg Bursts' lower carrot orange ring, they have four carrot orange spikes, remising legs, and on the top of their body they have five dark spring green spikes.

Powers and Abilities
The Egg Shackles have the ability to latch themselves onto their opponent and then literally drain the opponent of the Rings he/she has obtained.
Attack Patterns
The Egg Shackles possess no means of directly damaging the player on their own. Instead, they focus on damaging the player indirectly by latching onto Sonic and draining the player on his/hers Rings.
Overview
The Egg Shackles only appear in the daytime Action Stages/Stages of Sonic Unleashed. In the PS3/Xbox 360 version of Sonic Unleashed they appear the daytime version of Mazuri's Entrance Stage and daytime version of Jungle Joyride Act 1, and are absent from the Wii/PS2 version (the Egg Burst variation is present, however).
In gameplay, the Egg Shackles can attach themselves to Sonic whenever he makes physical contact with them when not performing an attack and will not let go until they have drained the player completely of Rings, resulting in the player losing a life. Additionally, Sonic will not be able to jump as high or boost. To shake the Egg Shackles fall off Sonic, the player has to repeatedly use the Stomp or Foot Sweep.
Trivia
The Egg Shackle's attack pattern of draining the players rings is very similar to the Mega Chopper from Hydrocity Zone.
