The Egg Sentry[1] is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, cannon-based Badnik created by Dr. Eggman, as well as a variant of the Egg Saucer.
Appearance[]
Being variants of the Egg Saucers, the Egg Sentries are spherical Badniks with red and black bodies, a gray dome-shaped head, two black eyes, and a small gray cannon built into the middle of their upper torso aiming 45 degrees.
Overview[]
In Sonic Blast, the Egg Sentries are exclusively encountered in Silver Castle Zone. In gameplay, the Egg Sentries hover slightly up and down, periodically firing two small projectiles at the player should they get within their range. However, the Egg Sentries are always seen pointing and firing to the left, as well as never changing the trajectory of their projectiles, which can make it easier for the player to get avoid them. Like with most Badniks, the Egg Sentries can be easily destroyed via any attack method. Like with most Badniks in the Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear titles, the Egg Sentries do not drop Animals upon defeat.
Powers and abilities[]
In addition of being capable of flight, the Egg Sentries can fire bursts of small projectiles from their cannons should their targets be within range. However, they are incapable of turning around for reasons unknown.
