- Not to be confused with the Phantom Egg.
The Egg Phantom is an antagonist that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a giant Hyudoro which assisted Eggman Nega during the Ifrit incident.[1]
Appearance[]
The Egg Phantom appears as a giant light-blue/white Hyudoro. It has a face capable of displaying facial expressions.[1]
History[]
Sonic Rivals 2[]
In Sonic Rivals 2, the Egg Phantom assisted Eggman Nega (disguised as Dr. Eggman) in battling various heroes and former allies inside the Mystic Haunt Zone. Despite the doctor's best efforts to stay hidden inside the Egg Phantom though, the ghost was defeated by its opponents.
Powers and abilities[]
The Egg Phantom is able to repel the Spin Attack and its variants used by the playable characters, keeping Eggman Nega's Egg Mobile invincible while harming the playable characters instead. It is also capable of flight.
Weaknesses[]
Like regular Hyudoro, if the Egg Phantom is exposed to a source of bright light, the Egg Phantom's ghost body will disappear, exposing the Egg Mobile inside.
Battle[]
The Egg Phantom is the fifth boss of Sonic Rivals 2. It is fought at Mystic Zone Act 4 and can be fought by all of the game's eight playable characters.
Boss guide[]
The battle takes place in a symmetrical room of several platforms and a grounded platform. The Rings spawn at the second row of platforms and in the middle platform in the fourth row. At the four corners of the stage, there are Warp Holes which teleport the character to the other side of the stage, giving the player a method of escaping if the player is cornered by the Egg Phantom. The three platforms in the middle of the stage each have a light switch on them. The Egg Phantom's only offensive attack is touching the player while Eggman Nega is concealed and will mainly chase either character.
The player must jump on the switch to temporarily turn on a light (which is indicated by a yellow circle emitted from a lamp above the switch that gradually shrinks) while being followed by the Egg Phantom. If the Egg Phantom touches a light, it will become transparent and stationary, revealing Eggman Nega's Egg Mobile. This is the player's chance to attack. Afterwards, the Egg Phantom will float up and restore itself.
Six hits from the player marks the end of the fight and victory for the player. However, if the player's rival lands six hits, the player loses.
