The Egg Memo (音声ダイアリー, Onsei Daiarī^?, lit. "Voice Diary") is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a small portable audio recorder created by Dr. Eggman containing his personal audio recordings during his state of being stuck in Cyber Space.

Description

The Egg Memo as an audio recorder consists of bulky shape with red and black paint with minor details such as small microphones on both sides. A large operating display on the device's front consists of touch screen features on a black background including generic "listen" symbol on a thick yellow ring and touch screen buttons like "play", "forward" and "rewind".

Overview

In Sonic Frontiers, Egg Memos serve as items purchasable with Treasure Tokens or Gold Cards received from the Fishing Spot minigame hosted by Big the Cat. The price to get the item is 15 Treasure Tokens in all difficulties, except Extreme Mode, where the price is 150 Treasure tokens. Once bought, the player can listen one of 24 voice logs recorded by the device's creator Dr. Eggman. Throughout the game's story, Eggman recorded multiple voice logs about his discoveries in the Cyber Space.

After being bought, all Egg Memo recordings can be listen in a separate Voice Logs playlist. The player can reach to it by choosing the "View Fish-o-pedia" option on the Fishing Spot menu and navigate to the Voice Logs sub-section. Many of voice recordings contain Eggman's reflections and revelations about mysterious Ancients, brief mentions related to his past plans of taking over the world, Sonic and his friends as well his personal inner thoughts about new advanced artificial intelligence Sage. Each Egg Memo is worth of fifteen Treasure Tokens, when the player purchases one from the "Trade Tokens" store.

1		Some force is keeping me from exiting Cyber Space. Is it because my A.I. made unauthorized access to the databases? If so, that's the exact opposite of what it was supposed to do!
2		What are G.U.N. military craft doing in here!? Sage has helped me avoid the worst of it, and it doesn't appear to be manned. Is it a defense mechanism? I need to learn more.
3		The "terrain" here keeps shifting. I'm finding recreations of regions from South Island, West Side Island, even Angel Island! Where is this environmental data coming from?
4		I have found elements from my own EggNet, United Federation, even Planet Donpa Kingdom race data! As best as I can surmise, this Cyber Space extends well beyond the scope of these islands and is gaining information from around the world. Fascinating!
5		I am officially jealous. This entire expanse was constructed by the ancient race who had previously settled on these islands! The level of technology they employed is completely alien to me, so I can't salvage it... yet.
6		It appears the Starfall Islands act as the CPU for Cyber Space. Once I'm out of here, I need to secure them at all costs. I'm not able to access the data too readily, but it appears the entire history of the Ancients is recorded here in Cyber Space. More than that! They logged their memories, their desires... it's almost like they encoded their very souls into this place. Now then - how can I use that for my benefit?
7		Who were the Ancients? They predate any civilization by a wide margin. The echidnas? Pfft. The Black Arms? Please. The Babylonians? Hardly! And yet they didn't seem to influence the world beyond these three piddly islands. Why? What stopped them from conquering the world?
8		I'm finding multiple connections between the Ancients and the Chaos Emeralds. Their technology seems built with the Emeralds in mind. It's almost like they share the same origin. I enjoy a good mystery, but not when the answers are more mysteries! Argh!
9		The Ancients seem to have employed a set of strange icons as keepsakes or totems. That same imagery is being used by the Koco running around the islands. Did the Koco inspire the Ancients? Or did the Koco adopt the leftovers once the Ancients were gone? Hmm.
10		Something wiped out the Ancients, that's for certain. A catastrophic event caused dire environmental shifts across the islands. It appears they made some effort to rebuild, but they were living on borrowed time. They died out within a generation.
11		I don't believe this! I had Sage run a diagnostic on the recorded genetic data of the Ancients and then against archives I have with me. They're relatives of Chaos, the God of Destruction! After countless years, their DNA corroded to the point they were completely transformed into a new species. Some kind of radiation affected them for eons, making them unrecognizable -- except to a genius like me.
12		I'm deploying my most advanced artificial intelligence into the ancient network spanning the Starfall Islands. I've code-named it "Sage." Sage will take over the alien network, take control of all its resources, and give them to me! ...Once I'm out of here.
13		Sage is performing at peak efficiency! Makes me wonder where I went wrong with Orbot and Cubot. Not only is she taking control of the Ancients' network, but she's harassing Sonic as well! I love it!
14		Despite her best efforts, Sage can't seem to control the Titans. Phooey. She can prompt them to act, but something is blocking her from assuming total control.
15		Sage keeps running the numbers by me and it's getting tedious. Yes, the power that wiped out the Ancients was formidable. Yes, unleashing it on this world would be catastrophic. But I'm a genius. Once I'm out of here I'll find a way to handle it. Better yet, weaponize it against Sonic!
16		Sage has been crucial to my survival here in Cyber Space. Early warnings of hostile entities, guiding me past firewalls, keeping me updated on progress in the real world - she's the best. "She?" "It." It's a program. An adorable program. A very personable program. A... hmm. I wonder if... she... has a preference?
17		I never really knew my cousin, Maria. Everyone spoke of her like she was very special. All that love for someone who was gone when I was! Right! There! But I have to wonder. Back then, was she anything like Sage is now?
18		Sage told the funniest joke during her report. "How fast can Sonic screw things up? Instantly - he's the fastest thing alive!" I tell you, she's a chip off the old block. Well, for a program, I mean. It's not like she's alive. Or family. Or... hmm.
19		Who says I can't create life, huh? Just a bunch of proteins bumping together. Anyone can do that. A true genius does it with code and electrons! And if I did create life, she would be brilliant and loyal and perfectly effective! And you know why? Because her dad is a genius, that's why!
20		Sonic's on the island. Of course Sonic is on the island. I can't remember the last time I had a good night's scheme without him ruining it. Still, for a purely organic creature, obtaining Mach 1 of his own volition is impressive. I'm man enough to admit that.
21		It's Sonic who named me "Eggman." Except the joke's on him! I embraced the name! I made it my own! His mockery is now a name feared across the ages! I'm not going to adopt "Baldy McNosehair," though. My dignity has it's limits.
22		It appears Amy Rose has been dragged into the mix. Clever girl. Tenacious. She's come a long way since being an easy pawn in my schemes to ensnare Sonic. It seems like she had some trouble finding herself. But when you hang around with someone with as big an ego as Sonic, self-identification has to be a challenge.
23		Knuckles is here too. What a rube. That hair-trigger of his is a problem, but also a boon when I can get him to go off in the right direction. Wait! If he's here, that means the Master Emerald is unguarded! Its power will be mine! Oh. No, wait. I'm stuck here. Phooey.
24		Sonic's here, so it's no surprise Tails is too. It's a pity. Young Prower has a keen mind and loads of potential. Yet he's fixated on worshipping Sonic. Then again, maybe that's for the best. Given all the trouble he gave me in Station Square and on the ARK, I think I prefer him wasting his potential lingering in Sonic's shadow.

4		エッグネットと連邦政府のデータ片もあった。 ドンパ王国のレースデータでさえ！ このことから、電脳空間はひとつの惑星にとどまらず、いくつもの星系から情報を集めているものと推測される。 実に面白い！
5		これは嫉妬せざるをえまい。 この空間全体が、かつてここの島々に暮らしていた古代種族によって構築されたのだ！ 連中の技術水準はワシが見たこともないものだ。 よって復元も出来ない。 ・・・今はまだ。

7		古代人とは何者か？ 彼らはどんな文明よりもはるか昔に存在した。 エキドゥナ？　プププ。 ブラックアームズ？　冗談はよせ。 バビロン盗賊団？　比べものにならん！ だが連中はこのつまらん島々以外の世界には影響をもたらさなかったようだ。 なぜだ？ なぜだ？連中は世界を征服しようとしなかったのだ？
8		古代人とカオスエメラルドの接点をいくつか発見した。 連中のテクノロジーはカオスエメラルドありきで築かれたようだ。 同一の起源があるようにも思える。 ナゾは好きだが、その答えがさらなるナゾを生むのは好かん！ がぁー！

13		セージの仕事ぶりは最高だ！ オーボットとキューボットはどこを間違えてしまったのだ？ セージは古代人のネットワークを支配するだけでなく、ソニックに嫌がらせまでしておる！ 素晴らしい！
14		最善を尽くしてはいるが、セージが巨神を自在にコントロールすることはできないようだ。 ふん。セージは巨神に動きを支持することは出来るが、 何かに妨げられ完全にコントロールは出来ない。
15		セージは事あるごとに事象演算がどうのと言ってくる。少々うんざりしてきた。 強大な力が古代人を絶滅させたのは確かだ。 その力をこの世界で解き放てば大惨事につながるのも確かだ。 だがこのワシは天才だぞ？ ここを脱出したら、制御する方法を見つけてやる。 いや、兵器に利用してソニックに食らわせてやる！
16		ワシが電脳空間で生き抜くにあたって、セージはなくてはならない存在だ。 敵の存在を早期に知らせ、ファイアーウォールを突破する段取りをつけ、現実世界の最新状況を教えてくれる。 あの娘はよくやっている・・・ あの娘！？ いや、人型メカに過ぎん。 愛らしい人型メカではある。親しみを感じさせる。 ワシの作ったメカなのに、なにか特別なものを感じる・・・この感情はなんじゃ？
17		いとこのマリアのことはよく知らなかった。 誰もが彼女は特別な存在だったと言う。 もういない人物に多くの愛情が注がれたのだ・・・ワシが！　いると！　いうのに！ だが昔の彼女は、今のセージのような存在だったのだろうか？
18		セージが報告ついでに最高に笑える冗談を言っていた。 「ソニックが大失敗するまでに必要な時間は？　答えは『一瞬』。何をするにも最速だから！」 生みの親にそっくりだ・・・ プログラムにしては、という意味だ。人型メカは生きているわけではない。 メカはメカ、人にはなれない・・・ううむ。
19		ワシに生命は創れないなどと誰が言った？ 生命などタンパク質の結合体だ。誰にだってできる。 だが本物の天才はコードと電子によって生み出す！ ワシが創る生命は、賢くて忠実で一切の無駄がないものになる！ なぜだかわかるか？ もちろん、ワシが天才だからだ！
20		ソニックが島にいる。 ヤツのことだ、不思議ではない。 計画をソニックに邪魔されなかったときのことを思い出せんほどだ。 とはいえ、ただの有機生命体のくせに、自分の意志で音速を超えるのだから大したものだ。 ワシにもそれを認めるだけの度量はある。
21		ワシを「エッグマン」と名付けたのはソニックだ。 だが残念ながら、ワシはこの名を気に入った！ これはもうワシの名だ！ ソニックは冗談のつもりだったろうが、今や時代を超えて恐れられる名前となった！ しかし「ヒゲたまご」は却下する。ワシにも誇りというものがあるからな。
22		エミ・ローズも巻き込まれたようだな。 賢い娘だ。しかも粘り強い。 昔はソニックをワナにかけるための駒として簡単に利用できたものだが、ずいぶん成長した。 一時は自分を見失っていたように思える。 ソニックの様に我が強いヤツといると、自己認識が難しくなるものだ。
23		ナックルズもおるのか？ あの田舎者め。 気が短いのが厄介だが、うまく操ればワシにとって便利な道具となる。 いや待てよ！ ヤツもいるということは、マスターエメラルドの守りがガラ空きということになる！　あの力をいただくぞ！ あ、いや、違う。ワシはここから出られんのだ。やれやれ。
24		ソニックがいるならテイルスがいてもおかしくないな。 残念だ。パウアー少年は頭脳明晰で大いに見込みがある。 なのにソニックを崇拝してやまない。 まあそれでよいのかもしれん。 アークのステーションスクエアではテイルスにさんざん苦労させられた。 ソニックの影で才能を無駄遣いしてもあったほうが助かる。
