The Egg Fortress Zone boss is the final boss of the Story Mode of Sonic Superstars. It appears at the end of Egg Fortress Zone.

Boss guide[]

After reaching the second checkpoint from Egg Fortress Act 1 and entering the room, a cutscene will play where Eggman will arrive in his Egg Mobile. He will taunt the player before flying away as the ground crumbles, leading the players into the boss arena.

Once inside, a cutscene will play as Eggman descends in his massive mech. He will start by unleashing a wave of missiles. The player must hit the blue missile back at Eggman. Be careful, as hitting them in front of the mech will result in it being deflected off the mech's armor. If hit behind the mech, it will damage him. This is vital, as it is the only way to damage the boss for the first phase. As the fight progresses, the amount of blue missiles will decrease and be much harder to hit back. The yellow Chaos Emerald's power would be a good idea to use for this. In between missile waves, Eggman will either create a series of laser walls, or smash part of the platform with one or more of his hands. For the former, look for the gap and go through it when the wall has flashed yellow (if more damage is taken, the player may have to Spin Jump through the gap). For the latter, rush over to one side avoiding any obstacles. Plasma balls will rain from the sky which the player must dodge. Once the boss has received 6 hits, the next phase will begin.

Eggman will start chasing the player in his mech from behind and will try to smash the players with his hands. The player can hit him when he has lifted both of his hands before bringing them down. There, they will have an opportunity to hit the boss, provided they survived by going all the way to the right side of the screen. After this, he will unleash a gravity orb that will create a zero-gravity effect while sending waves of yellow plasma orbs towards the player that will damage them. Then it will use and array of lasers from its satellite disks. The player must look for when it flashes before dodging out of the lasers path. Alternatively, the player can use Emerald powers like Bullet and Ivy to get a hit on Eggman. When the boss is on the last of its health, it will dislocate its arms and smash them into the platforms like spinner. This can be very annoying. To finish the fight once and for all, activate the Avatar power to give the two final hits to finish the fight.

  • The structure of this boss is similar to that of the Giant Eggman Robo's, the robot starts by attacking from the background, and once it is hit enough, it will chase the player until it is destroyed.
