Egg Fortress Zone

Egg Fortress Zone is the eleventh and final Zone of Sonic Superstars. It is an Eggman Empire space station orbiting above the earth.

Description[]

As the name suggests, the Egg Fortress Zone is Dr. Eggman's stronghold located in outer space, orbiting around the entire planet Earth. However, compared to Eggman's other space stations, this one is incredibly fragile, as it starts to crumble as soon as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy enter it, meaning that the Egg Fortress Zone, which had just been launched into orbit right before it was invaded, likely has been rushed out by Eggman.

Story[]

Having finally arrived at the Egg Fortress Zone, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy begin to track down Eggman and put an end to his sinister operations once and for all.

Overview[]

Act 1[]

Having successfully boarded the Egg Fortress, the player(s) make their way through a crumbling space station, dealing with derelict structures, several subsections guarded by laser defenses, anti-gravity chambers bombarded with lasers, and rooms where walls and floors materialize out of thin air. The timer is recorded on devices throughout the stage for a mysterious reason. Upon reaching the end of the stage, there is no mini-boss.

Act 2[]

Having reached the end of Act 1, Dr. Eggman activates a machine attached to an hourglass to reverse time. This requires the player(s) to play the stage in reverse, as enemies respawn, items come back, and destroyed and fallen sections of the level revert back to their original state.

Main Story[]

Dr. Eggman will launch missiles at the player, who must go behind his mech and hit the blue missiles back at him. His other attacks include breaking parts of the floor temporarily and creating a damaging wall with holes which must be jumped through. Once enough hits have been achieved, the robot will start chasing the player, requiring them to run away until he bends down, lowering his head far enough to allow for a hit.

Trivia[]

  • At the beginning of Act 1, the four Egg Mobiles used by the team in Frozen Base Zone Act 2 can be lying in the background. All four Egg Mobiles will be present regardless of the number of active players.
    • During Trip's Story, the Egg Scorcher Mark III she piloted in the previous Act is present instead of the other four Egg Mobiles.
  • During Act 2, the Timer will start at 10 minutes, and count downward until it reaches zero. Despite this, the Time Over mark for Egg Fortress Act 2 is 60 minutes, as it is for all other Acts in the game.
  • A purple moon that looks like The End can be seen in the background.
  • This is the first and only Zone in Sonic Superstars not to include a mini-boss or a boss at the end of Act 1.
