Egg Eagle (エッグイーグル Egguīguru?) is a boss from Altitude Limit in Sonic Rush. It is the sixth boss for Sonic the Hedgehog and the fifth boss for Blaze the Cat. It is controlled by either Eggman Nega or Dr. Eggman.

Appearance

The Egg Eagle is an aircraft contraption which as its name implies, resembles an eagle or hawk. Much of its body including its cockpit, body and legs are white and gray while having some colored areas particularly its wings and feet which varies on the player's character. Sonic's version of the Egg Eagle has these features colored maroon while Blaze's version has them green.

Battle

In the battle, the Egg Eagle will attack by shooting cloud-like energy balls which can be fairly difficult to avoid as it is attacking from the background. Another attack involves the Egg Eagle will fly upwards and stomp them. When it lands, its head will go down, giving Sonic/Blaze a quick chance to attack Egg Eagle. Several times, it will break the pattern by flying to the front (from the background) and slamming against the board Sonic/Blaze walks on (this to can be used to counter Egg Eagle because its head will go down, giving Sonic/Blaze a chance to hit it). Be warned, however, as not dodging the initial slam by jumping will leave Sonic/Blaze stunned, providing an easy target for the pecking attack afterwards. Egg Eagle can also use its turbines to whip up very strong winds, where Sonic/Blaze will have to run towards Egg Eagle to avoid falling off the edge (by rapidly tapping A and B buttons simultaneously). Once Egg Eagle is hit six/eight times, it is defeated.

Trivia

  • The Egg Eagle appears similar to that of a V-22 Osprey VTOL Aircraft when it fires its machine guns.
