The Egg Crusher is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It was a machine encompassing an entire room that Dr. Eggman used as his final weapon against Sonic the Hedgehog in the Final Zone.
Description[]
Appearance[]
The Egg Crusher consists of an entire room in the Final Zone. This room has at least four large, silver-colored cylindrical pistons, each with space inside it for a pilot, bulit into the floor and ceiling of the Final Zone. There are also various red bulbs built into the walls near the ceiling.[1]
Features and abilities[]
In additon to being able to crush foes with its pistons, the Egg Crusher's red bulbs can generate purple energy orbs that home in on targets slightly. However, if enough damage is dealt to the pistons, it can cause the Egg Crusher to shut down automatically.[1]
History[]
Past[]
After finding out that Sonic the Hedgehog had survived being sent into the depths of Scrap Brain Zone, Dr. Eggman and Dr. Julian Snively used the Egg Crusher in an attempt to defeat Sonic once and for all when he made it into the Final Zone, despite Snively saying that the machine made him nauseous. However, the plan failed, as Sonic was able to deal enough damage to the machine to make it shut itself down, much to Eggman's frustration.[1]
Trivia[]
- The Egg Crusher is based on the boss of the same name from the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
