Egg Bomber is a robot that appears in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). They are robots designed to throw miniature bombs at opponents, and were created by Dr. Eggman. They served as one of Eggman's main robot groups during the events of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).
The Egg Bomber is the precursor of more advanced robots that were deployed during the duration of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006); the Egg Sweeper and Egg Armor robots were modeled after the Egg Bomber robots.
"Egg Bombers are small, crab-like robots that can scurry both horizontal and vertical surfaces. They have light armor, so they be destroyed with a single strike. Egg Bombers have an appendage built specifically for throwing bombs at targets. They can only release one bomb at a time, and require a few seconds to reload."[1]
Description
Appearance
The Egg Bombers were based on the appearance of a crab. Having four legs with a giant pincer in the front of its head (similar to a large horn), the Egg Bombers are mostly colored copper with white-colored screw-heads around it. Its pincer is colored gray and it has amber eyes. Its bombs are colored red with an orange glowing light circling their middle.
The Egg Bomber robots are excellent climbers, easily moving on horizontal and vertical surfaces, quite similar to an actual crab. They possess a weak shell, however, being easier to destroy than its successors. For armaments, they can launch bombs at their opponents.
When a target arrives, the Egg Bomber robots will throw out miniature bombs at their target with a several-second-long interval between each shot.
In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics, the Egg Bombers are referred to as Egg Mites.[2] In this media, there are two models. The worker drones maintaining the interior of the Death Egg Mark 2 while an assault version can be used to overwhelm targets. Their limbs close into an egg-shape for easy storage or deployment.
