The Egg Blizzard (エッグブリザード, Eggu Burizādo^?) is an enemy that appears in Sonic Unleashed. They are a mass-produced air cooler-based Badnik created by Dr. Eggman. These robots have the ability to blow hyper-chilled air at their opponents.

Appearance

The Egg Blizzards are bipedal robots with torsos resembling round mechanical fans. They have a pair of small stubby legs on the bottom of their torsos and long segmented arms on their sides. Sitting on the top of their torsos are two round green lights, serving as their eyes. They are mainly colored glaucous with electric blue highlights, and have light blue fans.

Overview

The Egg Blizzards can be encountered in both the daytime and nighttime Action Stages/Stages of Sonic Unleashed. In the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version, the Egg Blizzards exclusively appear in all of Cool Edge's Acts, while in the Wii/PlayStation 2 version, they appear in all of Cool Edge's Acts and Jungle Joyride Night Act II: Restless Coastside.

In gameplay, whenever they spot Sonic, the Egg Blizzards will attack by periodically expelling an icy wind for several seconds. Should the player get hit by the Egg Blizzards' attack, Sonic will become frozen. In the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version, whenever the Egg Blizzards are knocked away from their original position, they will dance around for a few seconds before resuming their attack.

In the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version, in the nighttime Action Stages, the player can use the Egg Blizzards' attack against other enemies. By grabbing an Egg Blizzard, the player can use the Egg Blizzard's freezing breath by pressing / while controlling the direction Sonic is facing with the Analog Stick. Enemies hit by the Egg Blizzards' breath become frozen and can be defeated with a single attack. However, if the enemies are left frozen for too long, they will eventually thaw out.

Personality

The Egg Blizzards appear to have a somewhat playful side, humorously dancing around in a ballerina-like fashion every now and then.

Powers and abilities

The Egg Blizzards possess a powerful cooling system that allows them to blow hyper-chilled air from their fans at such low temperatures that they can instantly freeze their targets in a layer of ice.
