Dr. Wily and Dr. Eggman, Sonic the Hedgehog #251

The Egg-Wily Machine X is a robot made by Dr. Eggman and Dr. Wily that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man comic crossover event, Worlds Collide. It is essentially a hybrid of the Wily Machine 9 and the Egg Destroyer Battlesuit. Although it has been mentioned several times throughout the comic crossover, the robot actually appears to be worked on by Orbot and Cubot inside the Wily Egg while Eggman and Wily were thinking of ways to betray each other if their plan to conquer the world fails. (WC #8)

It ended up being destroyed by Super Sonic and Super Armor Mega Man, Eggman would pilot it's half destroyed head in order to stop Super Sonic from fixing their world with a Chaos Control, ramming into him and firing an energy blast into the chaos energy orb thrown by Sonic, resulting in the collapse of the Multiverse. The remains would end up being sent to Sonic's World in Efrika with Dr. Eggman and Orbot & Cubot. (WC #12)

Trivia[]

  • Its name comes from the combination of final bosses through both the Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man video games, as "Wily Machine" and "Egg" robots are combined to make the name of this unit, the X comes from the crossing of Eggman and Wily's designs.
