The Edge Attack[1] is a move used by Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). When performing this technique, Shadow attacks a target with a sideways kick.

When using the Edge Attack, Shadow lowers himself down while running forward, turns off his Air Shoes, and sweeps his legs in a 180 degree angle into his target, dealing damage.

In gameplay, the Edge Attack is primarily used to destroy weak obstacles and enemies. Unlike most other moves which slow the player when using them while running, the Edge Attack preserves Shadow's momentum, although it only deals one hit worth of damage and has limited range. Regardless, it is still recommended for keeping momentum when weak obstacles or foes bar Shadow's path (such as when fighting Silver), and to sneak through enemies' attacks. In addition, the Chaos Boost will amplify its power to a certain degree.

To use the Edge Attack in gameplay, the player must press XboxX.png/PSSquareButton.png while running.
