ESP Silver is a transformation that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is an alternate version of Silver the Hedgehog from before the events of the Solarisincident were erased, achieved by enlightenment and discovering his true potential.
ESP Silver does not differ vastly in appearance from his base form. As such, he is a silver anthropomorphic hedgehog with white fur on his chest surrounding his neck that falls and rests between his two back spines, gold eyes that have an upturned angular shape with black patterns at their edges, and peach skin. He has a black nose on his muzzle, and two large spines at the back of his head, while on the front of his forehead, there are five distinct spines flared up and back, the two final ones covering up most of his small, triangular ears and a short pointy tail.
The main difference between ESP Silver and his base form is the prominent Psychokinetic aura that surrounds him at all times, giving his entire appearance a more aqua hue.
Game appearances[]
Sonic Runners[]
Following his split with Blaze, Silver has grown stronger and has discovered his true power.
Within Sonic Runners, ESP Silver was the first and only alterative version of Silver, released on November 27, 2015. Unlike the normal Silver, who is a Speed/Easy character, ESP Silver is a Fly/future character, with the implication that his enchanced Psychokinesis has transformed him from a speed to a fly character. As a future type, ESP Silver slows the game speed to 95%, making it easier to avoid incoming obstacles, while also boosting the game score by 37%. As a fly type ESP Silver has access to the "float ability" where he can jump up to six times before needing to land again. ESP Silver was made obtainable via the Premium Roulette as one of the unlockable characters.

Sonic Speed Simulator[]
Within Sonic Speed Simulator, ESP Silver was made a playable character of the "Super" rarity on 18 May, 2024. To obtain ESP Silver, the player must complete the following seven tasks:
Throughout the event, ESP Silver will comment on the natural beauty of the timeline, comapring it to his own hometimeline and musing over what could have been for his own future.
ESP Silver, like other "Super" characters can fly for as long as the stamina gauge has energy. He can also Parry attacks from Badniks or destroy low level enemies by walking into them. He also interestingly features the ability to walk on the waters of No Place. His bonus stats are +3 Magnet and +5 Stamina.

Powers and abilities[]
As a result of his enhanced Psychokinesis, ESP Silver can fly for lengthy periods of time, excelling that of what is normally possible with his Levitate ability. He can use this ability to his advantage to cross larger gaps or chasms. It is also implied his base Psychokinetic ability are also enhanced by this form.
As ESP Silver, Silver has the ability to Parry enemy attacks and destroy most Badniks with ease.[note 1]
ESP Silver can only fly for as long as he has the stamina to. He can regain some of his stamina by collecting rings, or waiting for the gauge to refill. [note 1]
Unlike Silver's Super Form, ESP Silver is not impervious to damage, losing rings to obstacles such as Spikes and cannot survive Bottomless pits. ESP Silver can also drown and will be forced to respawn if his breath reaches 0 in No Place if he does not acquire Air bubbles.
Quotes[]
"It's incredible to see such lush green grass in this timeline. I've strived to improve my future, but it's still nothing like this!"
"We've looked all over but I'm still unsure how I got here, I think I might stay around and join your adventure, there has to be some new purpose I can fulfill!"
While ESP Silver does not have a conventional theme song, an instrumental version of Dreams of an Absolution can be unlocked via completing one of his tasks during the "Overpowered Silver Event" in Sonic Speed Simulator.
Trivia[]
While his name of ESP Silver may not initially make sense since Silver has had not had any improvements to his "extrasensory perception" abilities, the name likely comes from the fact that Silvers Psychokinetic aura was named internally "ESP_Aura" in the files of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).
ESP Silver is one of only two "Transformation" skins in Sonic Runners, with the Werehog being the other.
ESP Silver appears to come from the timeline where Solaris' flame has not been blown out, yet Iblis has been defeated. This is suggested by the fact that he has split from Blaze, which occurs when she seals both herself and Iblis in another dimension.
Sonic Speed Simulator adds to this theory as ESP Silver mentions himself to be "another Silver" who was removed from his own timeline, and frequently muses over his future being full of flames and lava.
ESP Silver's jumps in Sonic Runners use the sound effect from the Teleport Dash.
ESP Silver's Parry animation appears similar to the release animation of the Grab All.
Despite the fact the ESP Silver can be described as "Canonically Ambiguous" due to only appearing in spin-off titles, it is interesting to note that ESP Silver's dialogue in Sonic Speed Simulator went through reviews from Sega, with lines being cut due to lore reasonings.[1]
