The E-3000 is a character that appears in the Sonic X anime. It was an E-Series robot created by Dr. Eggman. It was primarily used as an attack robot, but could also double as a mech as up to three individuals could sit in the robot's chest compartment.

Full view of the E-3000

The E-3000 was an exceedingly large robot, making two-man space fighters look like model planes in its grasp. Its color scheme was a sage green with olive green accents on its shoulder spikes and "feet." Its head was shaped like a flattened kabuto with two long, thin fins on either side, a central fin that could glow blue or red and a single red eye, spikes on its shoulders and feet, and the lower section was armored in such a way as to resemble Japanese kusazuri and haidate. Its chest compartment was wide enough to house three people and came with retractable windows in its abdominal area.

Metarex Saga

After saving the Resistance of planet Cascade from the Metarex, Dr. Eggman, Shadow, Rouge, Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun were asked to join their forces, but only agreed to (under false pretenses) in return for helping them find a Chaos Emerald. Suspecting that the Resistance's leader, Leon, was not being honest with him, Dr. Eggman eavesdropped on him and discovered he was working with Pale Bayleaf. Leon held the doctor at gunpoint and planned to turn Eggman over to the Metarex, along with assassinating Eggman's allies and his own teammate, Molly. Eggman was quickly saved by E-3000, who destroyed the roof of the building he and Leon were in, knocking the Resistance leader to the ground. Eggman, Decoe and Bocoe proceeded to head back to the Crimson Egg, only for the Resistance to try and stop them using their spacecraft. E-3000 snatched the ships out of the air with ease and threw them into the ground like lawn darts. It was at this moment Pale Bayleaf's Battleship along with a small fleet of Metarex ships attacked to try and capture Eggman, although the scientist ultimately evaded capture.[1]

E-3000 never speaks, but takes orders as if it has a mind of its own. Its idea of having "fun" with the Resistance fighters was to humiliate them instead of outright destroying them and it visibly showed fear when the Metarex attacked it with powerful laser fire, dodging as best it can and demonstrating a strong sense of self-preservation.[1]

Powers and abilities

The E-3000 possesses incredible strength. It could capture spacecraft within its giant mitts and throw them with enough force to plant them into solid ground.[1]

  • The E-3000, like the E-44 is one of the only members of the E-Series in Sonic X to not be given a code name.
  • The E-3000's design seems to have been partially inspired by various pieces of samurai armor.
  • The E-3000 bears a resemblance to several types of mobile suits from the Gundam series, in particular the MS-06 Zaku II line.
