E-100, codenamed Alpha, or ZERO, is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It was the prototype of the E-100 Series line, created by Doctor Eggman during his campaign to harness the power of Chaos.

Appearance[]

ZERO was a vaguely humanoid green robot with a garbage can-like head. On top of its head was a lid with a black surface and yellow lower rim, and on the bottom of its head was a red stripe. On the sides of its head, next to its face, it also had two black bars for shoulders. Attached to these bars were its arms, which had thick green and red forearm armor and mitten-like black hands. Its lower body consisted of two stubby rocket thrusters attached on the sides of its hips. These thrusters were red on the top and had black exhausts on the bottom. It also had a fin on its rear, and up front it had a gray flap covering its pelvis. This pelvis plate had a black upper and lower rim, and a golden handlebar with a black grip attached to its bottom.

History[]

Past[]

E-100 ZERO was created by Dr. Eggman as the prototype of the E-100 Series at some point before the Chaos incident. Following the launch of the Egg Carrier, ZERO was sent to hunt down Birdie, a Flicky that had a Chaos Emerald that the doctor wanted. However, Amy stood in the robot's way. After being relentlessly chased by ZERO, the hedgehog eventually destroyed it.[1][2]

At a later point, a version of ZERO somehow made an appearance in the Special Zone. This incarnation of the robot would repeatedly pursue Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Cream whenever they went to that Zone to claim a Chaos Emerald.[3]
