The E-100 Series, also known as the E-100 Droids, is a group that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. They were a group of advanced robots created by Dr. Eggman, and the personal enforcers for the Eggman Empire.
History[]
Creation[]
Dr. Eggman had created the E-100 Series in the year 3236, but were hardly used prior to being destroyed, however. Four of the E-100 Series robots: E-101 Beta, E-102 Gamma, E-103 Delta and E-104 Epsilon were assigned to a competition to search and capture the entity that absorbed Chaos' tail, that being Froggy.[1] Later, E-102 Gamma had found Froggy in the País Misterioso with Big the Cat. Gamma was successful on capturing Froggy,[2] and, along with Beta, Delta, and Epsilon, returned to the Egg Carrier to win the competition. Eggman was pleased at Gamma's competence on the assignment, claiming Gamma as the winner.[3] Sometime during this, a group of ZEROes were sent to track down a green Flicky, which had escaped at the Station Square. Amy Rose was caught in the crossfire, as she was protecting the Flicky. However, she was captured by the E-100 Alpha robots, but the Flicky followed, realizing Amy's actions were to protect the bird.[4] Gamma realized the eventual fate of Amy and the Flicky if he were to follow Eggman's orders, thus he decided to free the two from the Egg Carrier prison.[5] Later, both Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower arrived at the Egg Carrier, which led to Eggman ordering Gamma to attack the two Mobians. With Sonic tricking Gamma to shoot himself, Amy stopped the fight between the heroes and Gamma, as she explains that Gamma helped her. Sonic believes in Amy, and as the heroes prepare for the final fight, Gamma leaves the Egg Carrier, saying good bye to the friend he saved.[6]
Downfall[]
A new series known as the E-1000 would be built and stationed at Prison Island.[7] Eventually, Eggman would build the E-105 Army to invade Feral Forest, but all of the robots were easily destroyed by Sonic, Sally Acorn, Geoffrey St. John, and Hershey Cat.[8] Similar robots, possibly E-100 Series, were also assigned in the Operation: Triple Threat battle plan, but were ultimately destroyed by the Chaotix, Amy Rose, Rouge the Bat and General Armand D'Coolette with his Mes Braves Battalion.[9][10]
Gamma had set out his goal to eliminate all E-100 Series robots,[11] and was successfully at wiping out all of his brothers with the exception of himself and the then-inactive E-123 Omega. Believing Gamma was a huge threat, Eggman sent Omega to obliterate the traitor, to which Omega successfully accomplished. However, Gamma had uploaded his free will into Omega, causing Omega to change his motives and join the Guardian Units of the Nation organization, later becoming a prominent member of Team Dark.[12]
- Note: From this point, the E-100 Series' history continues from their new existance in the altered timeline.
