History[]

Past[]

Some time after E-123 Omega was created, the robot defected from the Eggman Empire and began opposing Dr. Eggman and everything he created.[1][2]

Following the destruction of an old Death Egg model, E-117 Sigma reactivated on the shore of an artificial island created from the Death Egg's debris, which would come to be known as Scrapnik Island. Sigma, heavily damaged and left to rot, proceeded to repair itself and the island's other discarded inhabitants with scrap metal. Sigma also made attempts to repair the Egg Carrier, so that they may one day leave the island.[3]

About a month after the Eggman War, E-106 Eta roamed one of Eggman's bases by itself. It did not notice Espio the Chameleon, who was investigating the base, sneak past it.[4]

The Fate of Dr. Eggman[]

Stationed inside the computer room in one of Eggman's pyramid bases, E-107 Theta and its horde of Spinas encountered Sonic the Hedgehog, Silver the Hedgehog and Whisper the Wolf when they broke into their room. While Theta attacked the intruders, it was protected by the Spinas who kept the heroes occupied. However, When Whisper shot Theta with her Variable Wispon, it retaliated swiftly. Before Theta could kill Whisper, Silver blocked its missiles. Sonic then moved in and attacked Theta with a swift assault, destroying it and releasing the Picky that powered it.[5]

Crisis City[]

E-123 Omega soon after assisted Team Dark in evacuating Sunset City by stalling the local Zombots.[2] During the evacuation however, Omega was destroyed. Fortunately, Tails managed to save his head and take him to Restoration HQ.[6]

All or Nothing[]

Omega's head was later moved to Angel Island after Restoration HQ was invaded by Zombots.[7]

Out of the Blue[]

Following the conclusion of the Zombot apocalypse, Orbot and Cubot found Omega's head in a Rescue Shuttle that Dr. Eggman stole from Angel Island.[1] After getting to safety, Dr. Eggman reconnected Omega's head to a rebuilt body, which he kept immobilized, thus keeping Omega from moving his new body. He then connected Omega to the Giga Omega mecha, which he used to attack Spiral Hill Village.[8] Fortunately, Omega was freed by Sonic, and a vengeful Omega destroyed Eggman's mecha. However, he fell apart shortly after.[9]

Chao Races and Badnik Bases[]

OmegaRepaired

With Omega still broken and in need of repairs, Tails was assigned to repair him. However, he needed spare parts from the E-100 Series and ciphers for Omega's blueprints from Eggman's base. Amy and Rouge thus went to get parts from the famous collector Clutch at White Park Grand Chateau while Sonic and Tails went on to get the ciphers from an abandoned Eggman base, where they encountered Egg Keepers. Rouge also took Omega's head with her, which she left in Clutch's apartment to carry out a secret plan.[10] Shadow later found Omega's head, who explained Rouge's plan to him. After stunning Clutch, Shadow left Rouge, Amy, and Cream behind with Omega.[11] When Dr. Starline later kidnapped Rouge and Tails, Omega, at the behest of Rouge, scared Starline with a loud sound, in order to make him drop his guard. Later, back at Tails' Workshop, Omega was rebuilt with the aid of Belle the Tinkerer using his blueprints and the spare parts.[12]

Scrapnik Island[]

After triggering a powerful thunderstorm due to the ruined Death Egg's climate disruptor, Sigma took in Sonic and Tails, who crash-landed on Scrapnik Island during the thunderstorm. Sigma patched up an unconcious and injured Sonic, giving him an ankle brace. Sigma then monitored Sonic until he awoke and had a surprise encounter with the Scrapniks and Mecha Sonic, after which it greeted the hedgehog and apologised for the scare. Sigma also apologised for his inability to either repair or disable the malfunctioning climate disruptor and offered asylum to Sonic and Tails while the Tornado underwent repairs.[13]

Some time later, Sigma and his Scrapnik assistants finished assessing the damage to the Tornado and concluded that it was in need of a replacement integrated drive generator, something they would be able to scavenge from within the Death Egg. Sigma, with the help of Mecha Sonic, escorted Sonic through the Death Egg and revealed the Scrambled Egg Carrier, explaining their desire to escape Scrapnik Island and leave behind any reminders of Dr. Eggman. The group was then attacked by Mecha Knuckles, who had been reprogrammed to protect the Egg Carrier from intruders. Sigma was knocked out after an unsuccessful attempt at calming Mecha Knuckles down.[3]

Sigma later reactivated, only to find Mecha Knuckles destroyed at the hands of Mecha Sonic, with Sonic and Mecha Sonic nowhere to be seen. Regrouping with Tails, Sigma explained that it had attempted to rewrite Mecha Sonic's original programming but had evidently failed, only to be swiftly captured by Mecha Sonic soon after.[14] Sigma later reappeared alongside Tails, various Scrapniks and a repaired Mecha Knuckles to pull Sonic and Mecha Sonic out of the Death Egg's incinerator. After Tails freed Mecha Sonic and Mecha Knuckles from Eggman's old programming, Sigma returned the favor by assisting in the repair of the Tornado.[15]
